Neste texto nós refletimos sobre uma demanda de formação continuada para a docência em Química, apresentada por professores indígenas, destacando múltiplas dimensões do currículo da área das Ciências da Natureza. Partimos do questionamento a respeito das condições necessárias para dimensionar uma formação continuada comprometida com a produção curricular. Assim, visamos interpretar tais dimensões em relação às aspirações curriculares, relativas ao conhecimento químico. Os resultados indicam que as experiências formativas dos professores se apoiam em abordagens hegemônicas, mas também possuem características de uma política cultural. Os dados nos apontam desde adesões voluntárias, processos individuais e coletivos de estudo, até o reconhecimento de diferentes matrizes de conhecimento e distintas bases epistemológicas presentes na Educação Básica.
Nos últimos anos tem se configurado um outro personagem no contexto do ensino e aprendizagem de línguas estrangeiras: o conselheiro linguageiro (CL). Neste texto propomos uma definição do que seja o aconselhamento linguageiro (AL) e expomos alguns dos papeis do CL, comparando-os com os do professor; levantamos ideias a respeito do lócus do CL nas instituições e das melhores práticas desse agente de aprendizagem. Esse experimento desenvolveu-se em uma universidade no norte do Brasil e envolveu alunos e professores de línguas estrangeiras. Os dados que aparecem neste texto são de alunos e conselheiros de inglês. Em seguida mostramos o impacto dessa ação na autonomização e na motivação dos aprendentes e como esse diálogo entre CL e aprendente pode se dar por meio de recursos tecnológicos mais disponíveis do que o contato face a face.
