This paper is written to describe the importance of digital libraries to be applied in university library through the exploration of the advantages offered by digital libraries, as well as the challenges that will be faced in the implementation of digital libraries as infrastructure to support education. The exploration was carried out by conducting a literature review from some empirical study resources. Rapid technological developments in all fields including the library are the cause of the emergence of digital libraries. As a source of information and learning resources for educational academics, digital libraries offer a variety of advantages over conventional (traditional) libraries. With these various advantages, conventional libraries are irreplaceable, but the existence of digital libraries completes conventional libraries. In addition to offering many advantages, various obstacles found in the digital libraries practice such as facilities problems, digitizing collections, copyrights, human resource, and cost issues. These obstacles will later become challenges for library managers who will apply digital libraries in their university. The result found that conventional library remained irreplaceable by the digital library.
AbstrakTujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui implementasi SMM ISO 9001:2008, hambatan dan penyelesaiannya dalam implementasi SMM ISO 9001:2008. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain campuran untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi SMM ISO 9001:2008. Penelitian dilakukan di SMK Ma’arif 1 Wates dengan subjek kepala sekolah, wakil kepala, QMR, guru, orang tua siswa, dan siswa. Objek penelitian adalah SMM ISO 9001:2008. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar pengamatan dokumen, kuesioner dan wawancara. Tingkat implementasi SMM ISO dinyatakan dalam bentuk persentase. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa di SMK Ma’arif 1 Wates, implementasi SMM ISO 9001:2008 memperoleh nilai fokus pada pelanggan 83,95%, kepemimpinan 65,53%, partisipasi karyawan 76,67%, pendekatan proses 72%, pendekatan sistem 75%, perbaikan berkelanjutan 75,13%, pendekatan faktual 64%, hubungan pemasok 74,64%. Hambatan yang terjadi dalam implementasi SMM ISO 9001:2008 adalah pada pendekatan faktual dalam pengambilan keputusan kurang efektif. Penyelesaian hambatan tersebut adalah dengan melakukan penetapan data, penghimpunan data yang sesuai dan efektif, dan analisis data kefektifan sistem manajemen mutu.Kata kunci: implementasi, Sistem Manajemen Mutu (SMM) ISO 9001:2008AbstractThe purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of QMS ISO 9001: 2008, the constraints and the solutions in the implementation of QMS ISO 9001: 2008. This study used a mixed design to describe the implementation of QMS ISO 9001: 2008. The setting was SMK Ma’arif 1 Wates with the subject principals, deputy head, QMR, teachers, parents, and students. The objects of this study were QMS ISO 9001: 2008. The data was collected through the observation sheet documents, questionnaires and interviews. The ISO QMS implementation level was in a percentage. The results of this study show that in SMK Ma’arif 1 Wates, implementation of QMS ISO 9001: 2008 obtained a value of customer focus 83.95%, leadership 65.53%, employee participation 76.67%, process approach 72%, system approach 75 %, continual improvement75.13%, factual approach 64%, and supplier relationships 74.64%. The constraint that occurs in the implementation of QMS ISO 9001: 2008 is in the management principle of factual approach to decision making, and the solution is the determination of the data, appropriate and effective data collection, and the analysis of the effectiveness of the quality management system.Keywords: implementation, Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001: 2008
This study aims to describe the planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising the partnership of the SMK Negeri 2 Gedangsari Fashion Expertise Program with the Astra Michael D. Ruslim Education Foundation. This research is qualitative research with the phenomenology approach. The research subjects were determined purposively consisting of vice principals for public relations, vice principals for infrastructure, head of administration, head of fashion expertise program, DIY regional coordinator and Board of Astra Education Foundation Michael D. Ruslim. Data collection is through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. The analysis is carried out with the stages of processing and preparing raw data, building a general sense, coding data, describing categories and themes, presenting narrative data, and interpreting data. The results of the study are as follows. (1) The partnership planning is carried out with collaboration between schools and the Astra Michael D. Ruslim Education Foundation through the process of integrating programs and joint deliberations. (2) Organizing partnerships is done by grouping human resources according to their duties and responsibilities. (3) The partnership is carried out by the vice principal for public relations and the head of the fashion expertise program and the DIY regional coordinator from YPA MDR. The vice principal for public relations and head of fashion design expertise program carry out activities provided; while the management of YPA MDR provides physical and non-physical assistance. (4) Partnership oversight is carried out with complementary cooperation between the vice principal for public relations, vice principal for infrastructures, head of administration, head of fashion expertise program, DIY regional coordinator and board of trustees. YPA MDR conducts supervision in administrative aspects using the instrument of monitoring the success of the program, while teachers and foundations conduct supervision in non-administrative aspects through observing participation in the partnership process.
The objective of this research is to identify the application of total quality management based on the five pillars of total quality management; total involvement, measurement, commitment, customer focus and continuous improvement in 3 and 8 Yogyakarta State Senior High Schools. The type of research used in this thesis is qualitative with a case study. The data sources are principals, vice principals, teachers, education personnel, and students. The techniques of collecting data are observation, interview, and documentation. The validity of the data used in this thesis is observational persistence and triangulation. This research uses three components of interactive analysis; data reduction, data exposure or presentation and conclusion. The results show that (1) Every member in the school shows cooperation, active participation, and good communication, (2) Schools evaluate through SWOT analysis to measure the achievement of quality standard, (3) School members are responsible to the task given in supporting quality improvement, (4) Services delivered according to standards of customer satisfaction, (5) Schools using PDCA pattern.
