Este artigo apresenta e descreve algumas das atividades que foram realizadas em um projeto de extensão universitária desenvolvido na cidade de Blumenau/SC, no ano de 2019. O projeto foi aplicado em quatro escolas estaduais com alunos do Ensino Fundamental e Médio. A temática do projeto envolve a abordagem da geometria em obras arquitetônicas e artefatos de design apresentados por meio de painéis expostos nas escolas e de jogos interativos, situação em que foi possível reconhecer as formas geométricas estudadas nas aulas de matemática, tais quais: prismas, cubos, cilindros entre outros. Por meio das mostras, também foi possível observar obras arquitetônicas contemporâneas assim como objetos icônicos do design que despertaram nos alunos conexões entre as formas e a linha do tempo do desenvolvimento destas produções.
Este artigo apresenta os resultados de uma investigação que analisou as transformações espaciais, quanto ao aspecto dimensional, pelas quais passaram as Habitações de Interesse Social (HIS), multifamiliares de dois dormitórios, em relação aos projetos arquitetônicos originais na cidade de Blumenau-SC, entre 1980 e 2018. A metodologia aplicada nessa investigação incluiu pesquisa documental caracterizada por análise qualitativa aplicada aos conjuntos habitacionais financiados por políticas habitacionais federais: Banco Nacional de Habitação (BNH); Programa de Arrendamento Residencial (PAR) e Programa "Minha Casa Minha Vida" (PMCMV). A pesquisa focou o projeto arquitetônico na escala da unidade habitacional, limitando-se a um olhar técnico sobre os espaços internos de uso privado. Os projetos analisados permitiram compreender e identificar os aspectos dimensionais da amostra selecionada, a partir do cálculo das áreas construídas dos setores (social, íntimo, serviço e circulação) e da área útil de cada ambiente das unidades. As respectivas áreas foram comparadas com parâmetros dimensionais mínimos existentes na literatura técnica. Acreditase que é de fundamental importância o dimensionamento dos espaços das HIS para um funcionamento adequado do espaço da moradia conforme as necessidades dos moradores. Do ponto de vista funcional, ergonômico e financeiro; áreas em excesso ou subdimensionadas acarretam perdas para os usuários, como a não apropriação do espaço, emergindo problemas como o retorno às condições precárias de outrora ou a transformação do espaço por parte dos moradores sem qualquer assessoria técnica.
