The purpose of this study was to evaluate the degree of respiratory depression in the newborn caused by the drugs given to the mother during anesthesia for cesarean section.Two types of induction were compared, one with barbiturate (hexobarbitone) and the other with nitrous oxide, both followed by succinylcholine for intubation.
