Previously it was assumed that patients are rarely allergic to local anesthetic agents, but variation in individual patient’s response to local anesthetics is larger than previously assumed .adjuncts available to block sensory nerver are there, but these typically also prolong motor block.

The demand for esthetics in dentistry is increasing day by day. Ceramics have been introduced to fulfil the requiremnets of the patient. With years, various modifications and improvements in ceramic in relation to properties and esthetics have been made. This review will put a light on the basic properties and esthetic ability of the ceramics so as to understand the basics of it.

318 newborn babies were studied at term and after various complications of pregnancy or delivery for serum total bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD). The total bilirubin levels tended to be lower in infants born after various complications of pregnancy or delivery than at term. The mean activity of ALP in the infants was not different from that of normal adults. Its activity decreased by the 5th day of life and was lower in the fetal distress group. The AST activity was much wider than the adult range but ALT activity did not differ from the adult level.

Oral administration of 1,2-propanediol to rats in a daily dose of 1 ml of 28.4% aqueous solution per 100 g body weight for 30 days caused a significant decrease in the total lipids, fatty acids, phospholipids, and triglycerides of plasma, liver, and heart. The cholesterol content in plasma decreased while that in the tissues increased significantly. The accumulation of cholesterol in tissues tends to discourage long term use of 1,2-propanediol even by the oral route.
