3-pyridinecarboxamideThe NAD(P) coenzyme metabolite 1,6-dihydro-6-oxo-l-(~-~-ribofuranosyl)-3-pyridinecarboxamide (9) which is excreted in human urine and its 3-carboxylic acid 8 were synthesized by condensation of silylated 6-0x0-3-pyridinecarboxamide 4 and the corresponding silylated 3-carboxylic acid 2 with 1,2,3,5-tetra-O-acetyl-~-~-ribofuranose in acetonitrile in the presence of tin tetrachloride. The ribosidation site in 8 and 9 was assigned by 'H and I3C NMR spectroscopy.
