Cultural heritage is the wealth of people all over the world. The question of how to effectively improve the preservation and communication of cultural heritage has become an important research hot-spot. The available research results show that animation technology is an exciting avenue for preservation and communication. This systematic review examines how animation technology can be used to protect and disseminate cultural heritage, whether it has a positive impact on cultural heritage as a whole, and identifies the factors that influence the communication effect. This study conducts the systematic analysis by integrating the quantitative results of a total of 36 papers that measure the impact of animation technology on cultural heritage. The research results confirm that animation technology (VR, 3D, 2D, and interactive technology) has a moderate impact on the effectiveness of audience perception and attitude. In addition, this study analyzes the role of moderating variables such as technology type, personal factors, and environmental factors. Ultimately, this study reveals a gap in the empirical comparative study of the effectiveness of different animation techniques in the field of cultural heritage.
As the economies of Southeast Asian countries continue to develop at a faster pace, the opportunity to preserve and promote indigenous heritage and culture is critical. While the heritage buildings and culture of Malaysia may appear familiar and unpopular among locals, they continue to be in greater demand among foreign tourists. The purpose of this study is to examine the local attractions in Penang, which has been perceived as an unpopular tourism destination in recent years due to a lack of creative destination branding but has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for its historical heritage. Historical destinations should be rebranded through the creation of brand histories, as each heritage structure has a unique backstory. To summarize, innovative destination branding strategies were used to accomplish the objective. The foundation of destination branding is to promote the destination and attract new tourists. Observation and questionnaires were used to generate concept proposals. Three critical aspects of a heritage destination can be improved through this research project: the reputation, identity, and perception of the local attraction. Local historic structures should be maintained and protected for aesthetic and safety reasons. This proposal may be accepted as a viable solution for reviving Penang's tourism industry through a creative and innovative approach to destination branding.
With the advent of the information age, social media has become the main way for people to communicate and interact online, and has become a powerful communication medium in the world. This also directly expands the market of social media, greatly broadens the audience's horizons, and better meets the diverse needs of the audience. Research shows that the creativity of college students is on the decline, and interest in creativity has grown in recent years as the field of education places great emphasis on the performance of creativity. As the main pillar of social media usage, college students are inextricably linked with social media platforms, which influence the creativity of college students. Starting from the current situation of Chinese college students' creativity, this paper analyzes the relationship between social media and college students' creativity combined with the current situation of social media.
This study focuses on a systematic review of the research on the intangible cultural heritage of the decorative patterns of the bronze drums (DPBD) in China. The article attempts to answer two questions: first, the current status, trends, and unresolved issues of the research on the DPBD. Second, the current situation, trends and research gaps in the inheritance and development of the DPBD. It aims to identify and analyze the gaps to aid the inheritance and development of the DPBD culture in China and Southeast Asian countries. According to the PRISMA statement, forty-one articles were selected from six databases, including Web of Science (WOS), IEEExplore, Scopus, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, and CNKI for exploration. According to the research results, the decoration relationship with the socio-culture of the people of ancient China is the main content of many scholars’ research, and some of the content is controversial. The classification methods of the DPBD tended to be consistent, and the research results on the variations of different types of the DPBD are relatively few. It has a significant gap. The categories of motifs represented on the DPBD need further empirical research. The study on the conservation and inheritance of Chinese DPBD proposes research on application methods and development strategies based on theoretical research on the DPBD. Most scholars believe that digital and new media fields positively affect the inheritance, dissemination, and development of the DPBD culture. Still there is a considerable gap in empirical research on the effectiveness of digital and new media.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
