The militarization and securitization of that border were justified by government policies aimed at stopping irregular immigration, drug traffic, and terrorism. In 1991 the US Congress approved the creation of a new Defense Industrial and Technology Base (DITB), which would benefit the Gun Belt linked to the Military-Industrial Complex; and in 1992 the Department of Defense (DoD) proposed to establish a Defense Reserve Industrial Base Program (DRIB), the location for which would be within the existing production-sharing centers along the US–Mexico Border. Both, the DITB and the DRIB, would take advantage of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and transnational arms corporations established or expanded their facilities in the Global Space that has been created along the Mexico–US Border. This article examines this process.
CLASSIFICATION OF PARAMETERS HIGHLIGHTED, USING THE DIGITAL ELEVATION MODEL, TO DESCRIBE THE HILLY LANDSCAPE OF THE SUB-ANDEAN CORDILLERA ABSTRACTThis paper presents the estimation of three parameters relief whit the objective of classify the hilly landscape in a sector of the sub-Andean cordillera hills, the program using geographic information system (GIS) and Digital Elevation Model (DEM). We estimated the slope and curvature of the terrain using the ArcGIS Spatial Analysis module and the roughness was calculated Benthic Terrain Modeler with compatible module with the ArcGIS program. A frequency analysis was used to determine the slope ranges according to the Reglamento de Clasificación de Tierras por su Capacidad de Uso Mayor. A layer resulting from each parameter is relief using the integrated tool Bands Composition ArcGIS. The resulting units are classified to define the types of hills. Concluding that the parameters selected and modeled rated relief allow other landscape units.
ASSESSING THE REFLECTIVITY OF MARSHY GRASSLANDS AND DEFORESTED AREAS USING LANDSAT 8 IMAGERY IN LORETO, PERU ABSTRACTThe aim of this paper is to present the evaluation of the reflectivity of areas of marshy grasslands and deforestated areas in "terra firme" using Landsat 8 images and the ArcGIS 10 programme. Radiometric calibration of spectral bands 5 (near infrared), 4 (red) and 3 (green) of the scenes 006-063 and 007-063 was made. Bands calibrated were combined in RGB to facilitate viewing and digitizing of sampling areas. Reflectivities of the pixels in the red band (R) and near-infrared (NIR) were obtained for each sampling area. The reflectivities were analyzed through an ANOVA. The distribution of the reflectivity values in a NIR-R plane facilitated interpretation of the reflectivity. There were significant differences in the reflectivities of marshy grasslands and deforested areas. The reflectivity of pixels of the deforested areas, R had a mean of 0.0996, and the NIR a mean of 0.2534. On the other hand, in marshy grasslands R presented a mean of 0.0541, and NIR a mean of 0.2432. In the IRC-R plane, the reflectivity of marshy grasslands shows a greater tendency to values of vegetation, and a slight trend is observed to values of bare soil and water. In contrast, deforested areas show trends to values of only bare soil. The results of this study can be used to differentiate areas between marshy grasslands an...
Palavras clave: Capitalismo global. Diverse infrastructure megaprojects for industrial production of high technology goods -in the auto and aerospatial sectors- are concentrated in this SZIA; but also megaprojects for extractive processes, mainly of metallic minerals as copper, molibdem, gold and silver, and non metallic ones such as grafitt and wollastonit. This process is analyzed in the context of the restructuring of world capitalism in the 1970s and 1980s, promoted by the emergent Transnational Capitalist Class led by the US fraction of this Class. This restructuration encouraged global capitalism by dispersing and concentrating capital throughout the globalization of financial and production circuits which produced Global Spaces for expanding transnational capital in diverse regions of the world and, within these Global Spaces Specific Zones of Intense Acummulation were created. Keywords: Global capitalism.
