La presente investigación tuvo por objetivo determinar el efecto que la actividad propuesta, al ser aplicada, tiene en los elementos suprasegmentales del acento, pausas y tono en los estudiantes del VI ciclo, que cursan las asignaturas de Fonética y Fonología del Inglés en una universidad peruana. La metodología aplicada comprendió al diseño pre-experimental, donde aplicamos un pre-test, desarrollo de la actividad y post-test a una muestra de 28 estudiantes de una población de 128 estudiantes. Los resultados mostraron que la actividad tuvo efecto significativo en los elementos suprasegmentales del acento, las pausas y el tono, siendo el promedio de puntajes del post-test (14,46) mayor al del pre-test (5,46), con coeficiente de variación menos disperso que en el post-test de 12,22 frente al 34,43 del pre-test. Concluimos que los elementos suprasegmentales del idioma inglés relacionados al acento, pausas y tono, deben ser estudiados desde un inicio de la adquisición del idioma, conjuntamente con el vocabulario y su funcionalidad, para obtener modelos fónicos aceptables y muy cercanos a un nativo hablante del inglés.
El desarrollo de las dimensiones cognoscitiva, afectiva y volitiva-accional persigue promover la potencialidad vivencial de los estudiantes en el proceso de aprendizaje del idioma inglés en las instituciones educativas, sin embargo, el no aplicar los modelos de enseñanza aprendizaje adecuados, generan experiencias no significativas para los estudiantes. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar y evaluar el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje del idioma inglés propuesto por el Ministerio de Educación del Perú (MINEDU), aplicado en instituciones educativas públicas. Para ello, se realizó un estudio teórico descriptivo, no experimental, cuantitativo; la muestra estuvo conformada por 225 estudiantes y 2 profesoras del idioma inglés de una institución pública del distrito de Tarapoto, a quienes se aplicó un cuestionario independiente. Los resultados mostraron que la metodología impartida por el MINEDU sobre la enseñanza del idioma inglés presenta escasa motivación y participación de los estudiantes. Se concluye que el modelo didáctico convencional no promueve los estados vivenciales en los estudiantes, quedando el aprendizaje sólo en el plano cognoscitivo.
