Abstract. This article describes the design and validation of a questionnaire to determine the influence of competition on the values of autonomy/responsibility, prosociality, and satisfaction/fun, among football beginners. A total of 763 subjects participated in the study, divided into three groups: 334 children aged 4 to 7 years old, 358 parents, and 71 coaches. The validity of the questionnaire was determined by means of 12 experts’ analysis, Spearman's rank correlation coefficients, principle components exploratory factor analysis with Varimax rotation, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin index, and Bartlett's sphericity test. Internal consistency reliability was tested by means of Cronbach's α and using test-retest Cohen's Kappa index. The results obtained indicate that the questionnaire is useful for assessing the influence of competition on the values studied.
Previous studies focused on the comparison of soccer teaching methodologies in sports initiation have not obtained conclusive results about the best methodology. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to compare the effect of global and analytical training-learning methodologies on some technical fundamental skills in children of 8-9 and 10-11 years old in soccer initiation. The technical skills evaluated by the test battery of “The Soccer Star Challenge” were running with the ball, dribbling, heading and shooting the ball, in which the kids were evaluated, previously and after 40 sessions of training with each respective methodology. The results yield that both methodologies improved all the technical skills at the end of the training program. Moreover, both methods were effective, since no significant difference was found between them in the progress of the technical skills between the methodologies assessed. For the design of a training-learning program in soccer initiation, we suggest the use of activities that involved both models to develop all the players’ technical skills.
The methodology used in junior sports must focus on communicating educational values. This paper aims to analyze the assimilation of these educational values (responsible autonomy, respect, prosocial behavior and degree or satisfaction/ enjoyment) in a competitive context, by using the “Deporteduca” questionnaire. The questionnaire was administered to 467 participants divided into three groups: children aged four-seven, their parents, and their trainers. These football (soccer) players took part in two different competition models: seven-a-side federation football (soccer) leagues and the “Futgolines” alternative model of educational competition. This research compares the individual and average results obtained by participants in the two different formats and assesses whether these results are related using Chi-square (χ2). Both competition models showed an improvement in the acquisition of the quantified values, but the results show significant higher average values among “Futgolines” participants in the categories of “responsible autonomy and respect”. The results in the “satisfaction/enjoyment” category are similar and those in the “prosocial behavior” category are slightly higher in the federative model.
Abstract: The study aims to compare the effect of technical and tactical training in technical skills of the players (running with the ball, dribbling, heading the ball and shooting with the ball). The study included a sample of 76 players aged between 6 and 10 years, from different clubs of the province of Salamanca. The results indicate that all players have improved running with the ball and dribbling; while hitting the ball with the head and hitting the ball with the non-dominant foot only improved in the participants of the technical training. For these reasons, the training of the player’s individual technique could be a combination of closed skills strategies with other games based on tactical application.Key words: Technical training, tactical training, technical skills, soccer learning.
