This research aims to gain knowledge to understand residents' attitudes towards tourism sustainability in a destination where the main attraction is an archaeological site by analysing the effects of residents' support and perceived benefits for tourism sustainability (in economic, market and social terms). The relationships between perceived benefits and residents' support and among local involvement, attachment and perceived benefits were also examined. The proposed model was assessed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) regression. The data analysis showed that perceived benefits have a more significant effect on tourism sustainability than on residents' support. Interestingly, the influence of community involvement was found to be stronger than community attachment on perceived benefits surrounding a Peruvian archaeological site. This study can assist scholars and managers by shedding light on the understanding of tourism sustainability from a performance viewpoint that considers both financial and non-financial terms.

SummaryThe lack of specific treatment planning tools limits the spread of Intraoperative Electron Radiation Therapy. An innovative simulation and planning tool is presented. Applicator positioning, isodose curves, and dose volume histograms can be estimated for previously segmented regions to treat/protect. Evaluation by three radiation oncologists on 15 patients showed high parameter agreement in nine cases, demonstrating the possibilities in cases involving different anatomical locations, and Purpose: Intraoperative electron beam radiation therapy (IOERT) involves a modified strategy of conventional radiation therapy and surgery. The lack of specific planning tools limits the spread of this technique. The purpose of the present study is to describe a new simulation and planning tool and its initial evaluation by clinical users. Methods and Materials: The tool works on a preoperative computed tomography scan. A physi cian contours regions to be treated and protected and simulates applicator positioning, calcu lating isodoses and the corresponding doseevolume histograms depending on the selected electron energy. Three radiation oncologists evaluated data from 15 IOERT patients, including different tumor locations. Segmentation masks, applicator positions, and treatment parameters were compared. Results: High parameter agreement was found in the following cases: three breast and three rectal cancer, retroperitoneal sarcoma, and rectal and ovary monotopic recurrences. All radiation oncologists performed similar segmentations of tumors and high risk areas. The average appli cator position difference was 1.2 AE 0.95 cm. The remaining cancer sites showed higher devia tions because of differences in the criteria for segmenting high risk areas (one rectal, one pancreas) and different surgical access simulated (two rectal, one Ewing sarcoma). Conclusions:The results show that this new tool can be used to simulate IOERT cases involving different anatomic locations, and that preplanning has to be carried out with specialized surgical input.

A cytokine-based periodic immunotherapy treatment is included in a model of tumour growth with a delay. The effects of dose schedule are studied in the case of a weak immune system and a growing tumour. We find the existence of 'metastable' states (that may last for tens of years) induced by the treatment and also potentially adverse effects of the dosage frequency on the stabilization of the tumour. These two effects depend on the delay between the tumour growth and the immune system response, the cytokine dose burden, and other parameters considered in the model.

IFX was effective in the short- and mid-term in patients with chronic refractory pouchitis. However, medication had to be discontinued in a high number of patients.

Resumen: El estudio del afrontamiento en escolares es un tema de interés, ya que poseer habilidades de afrontamiento es garantía de vida saludable. El objetivo del presente estudio es la construcción y validación de una escala de afrontamiento, cuya finalidad es valorar el tipo de estrategias de afrontamiento utilizadas por escolares de educación primaria en relación con cuatro tipos de estresores cotidianos. Los participantes fueron 402 niños y niñas con edades comprendidas entre 9 y 12 años. Se presentan análisis factorial confirmatorio y evidencias de fiabilidad y validez. El instrumento consta de 35 ítems en formato de autoinforme que evalúan nueve estrategias de afrontamiento diferentes, distinguiendo entre afrontamiento centrado en el problema y afrontamiento improductivo. Los resultados muestran que esta escala presenta adecuadas propiedades psicométricas para la evaluación de estrategias de afrontamiento en población infantil.
