The aim and novelty of this study consist of estimating the nexus between CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions, energy use, economic growth, and financial development for ten Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) over the 2000–2017 period, starting from Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) theory. The Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares (FMOLS) method was used for testing the cointegration relationship. Granger causality estimation based on the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) and Pairwise Granger causality test were applied to identify the causality relationships between the variables and to identify the direction of causality. The implementation of the tests led to significant conclusions. In the long run, the levels of CO2 emissions and energy use do not have any influence on economic growth. Furthermore, there is a bidirectional causality among economic growth in terms of GDP and financial development variables. Thus, increasing financial development will generate more CO2 emissions and more energy use, and increasing economic growth will lead to rising financial development. In the short run, increasing financial development will generate more CO2 emissions and will lead to increased energy use and economic growth. Also, a bidirectional causality is being revealed between financial development and CO2 emissions. This indicates that financial development may help to reduce CO2 emissions.

At present many company leaders of assimilate the insurance of quality with a rule imposed from the outside and with an administrative act, which is an error. The biggest impediment in implementing the systems of quality insurance is the fact that producers do not acknowledge its economic advantages. Quality is seen as a desired social objective but its contributions to the profit of the company are considered to be marginal. This paper aims to putting into emphasis the total interdependence between the concept regarding the quality insurance and the commercial success, redefining in economic terms the objectives and the actions necessary for the implementation of the system of quality insurance. The production of quality products is not something sufficient. The costs of realizing the objectives must be carefully observed, so that the long term effect of the quality costs within the company be the desired one. That is why it is important that the efficiency of a system of quality be measured in economic terms. The costs of quality do not distinguish themselves from the other types of costs. Just as the costs for maintenance, projection, production, sale and other activities, they can be measured and analyzed in the stages of the product's life cycle, as well as in all the operational levels of the company.

The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing e-commerce and to evaluate the long and short-term impacts on the development of e-commerce activity. After establishing the hypotheses to verify, we use multiple panel regressions to test the influence of education level, consumer’s residence, consumer’s labour market status, internet banking, mobile and non-mobile users on the development of e-commerce. For this matter, in this paper, by adopting the fully modified ordinary least squares (FMOLS) method and a vector error correction model (VECM), we performed an empirical analysis of the nexus between education level, consumer’s residence, consumer’s labour market status, internet banking and mobile and non-mobile users and e-commerce, based on panel data for EU–27 countries from 2011 to 2020. The results of the study indicate that all the variables involved in the two econometric models and associated with education level, consumer’s residence, labour market status, internet banking, mobile and non-mobile users, all have significant impacts on the development of e-commerce. Most of the variables positively influence the development of e-commerce except for internet purchases by individuals un-employed and for internet purchases by non-mobile users that are negatively correlated with e-commerce activity.

This study has attempted to investigate the consequences of CO2 emissions on infants’ health in Pakistan over the period of 1975 to 2013. Several economic factors have been employed in our analysis and the estimates show insignificant impact of CO2 emissions in affecting children mortality. Increasing health facilities lowers children mortality over a short period were also observed but the relationship inversed in the long-run. In short-run, urbanization appeared as a decreasing factor to children mortality. While income inequality remains inversely related with children mortality. Both poverty and fertility are found enhancing factors to children deaths. The poor sector of the economy seemed to observe higher children mortality due to inadequate health facilities and low standards of living. Overall, we have observed greater impact of economic factors in explaining children mortality than CO2 emissions in case of Pakistan. These issues have a significant impact on the representative industries in Pakistan, such as the cotton textile and traditional clothing industry (apparel manufacturing).

For establishing the suitable monetary policy it is essential to know if there is a relevant relationship in practice between gross domestic product (G.D.P.) variations and monetary variables. The purpose of this study is to analyse the causality between output variation and money aggregate in Romania for quarterly data in the period 2000:Q1-2015:Q2. Moreover the impact on G.D.P. growth of other variables connected with money demand is assessed using Bayesian techniques. The results indicated a bidirectional relationship between G.D.P. variations and rate of real money demand in the mentioned period. The Granger causality test combined with stochastic search variable selection indicated that active interest rate and discount rata mostly explained G.D.P. variations. According to results based on Bayesian regime-switching models, contrary to expectations, the interest rate increases continued to generate higher output variations, the consumption being the engine of economic growth in Romania. In periods of economic recession, the lower interest rate stimulated the recovery of the economy.
