Let Y : R n → R n be a polynomial local diffeomorphism and let S Y denote the set of not proper points of Y . The Jelonek's real Jacobian Conjecture states that if codim(S Y ) ≥ 2, then Y is bijective. We prove a weak version of such conjecture establishing the sufficiency of a necessary condition for bijectivity. Furthermore, we generalize our result on bijectivity to semialgebraic local diffeomorphisms.
AbstractThe main objective of this text is to disseminate an existing synergy between mathematics and economics. More specifically, interrelations between the development of global invertibility results of locally injective mappings with problems of general economic equilibrium will be presented. For this, initially, the notion of economic equilibrium will be approached under a theoretical viewpoint, ascending from simple and intuitive models to reach more abstract contexts. Then, based on global invertibility theorems will be presented results of existence and uniqueness of general equilibrium for market models that fit into these general and abstract contexts. Finally, it will be noted that despite the efforts made by mathematicians and economists over the last six decades, a relevant problem in the interface between mathematics and economics, proposed by the celebrated Nobel Prize in economics Paul Samuelson, remains open. Keywords: Global invertibility. General economic equilibrium. Existence and uniqueness of general equilibrium.
