L’auteur présente un éclairage complémentaire à sa présentation de Qui a peur du (contre‑)transfert ? par León Grinberg, avec des éléments qui illustrent l’histoire de la théorie du contre-transfert et celle de la contre-identification projective (cf. schémas chronologiques) . Plusieurs auteurs après Freud ont été précurseurs dans l’apparition d’une conception dite « moderne » du contre-transfert, tels Sándor Ferenczi, Helene Deutsch, Theodor Reik, Melanie Klein, Donald W. Winnicott. L’approche moderne a été inaugurée par Paula Heimann et Heinrich Racker, puis poursuivie par Grinberg avec son concept de contre-identification projective. Elle sera prolongée par divers successeurs. Son évolution avec la cip aura suivi un parcours analogue à celui de la théorie du transfert, car l’obstacle gênant s’est transformé en outil pour le psychanalyste.
La dépression est une structure, ou mieux une « conjonction constante 2 » cognitivo-affective, à laquelle participent divers éléments qui s’affectent réciproquement. Parmi ceux-ci, nous pouvons mentionner : une expérience de perte (ou une expérience de changement vécue comme telle), le deuil d’un objet perdu et des parties du self comprises dans cette perte, les affects douloureux (persécuteurs et dépressifs) et les représentations idéatives correspondantes, ainsi qu’un Moi mettant en œuvre des défenses spécifiques face à la menace d’une souffrance psychique. Les affects douloureux mentionnés peuvent alterner très rapidement et très brusquement, donnant alors lieu à ce phénomène que j’ai désigné du terme de « fil du rasoir ». L’auteur illustre son propos de plusieurs fragments cliniques.
