Bednarz est professeure à l'université du Québec à Montréal, didacticienne des mathématiques. Elle conduit depuis les années 1990 des travaux scientifiques selon une démarche de recherche collaborative avec les enseignants. Elle a dirigé l'ouvrage collectif Recherche collaborative et pratique enseignante : Regarder ensemble autrement, édité en 2013 aux éditions L'Harmattan.Éric Roditi : Tout d'abord merci pour ce temps que vous avez accepté de prendre pour cet entretien sur la recherche collaborative. La première question que nous souhaitons vous poser concerne l'émergence de la recherche collaborative. Comment ce type de recherche « avec » les enseignants prend-il naissance au Québec ? Nadine Bednarz : La recherche collaborative prend naissance dans les années quatre-vingtdix. En comparaison avec d'autres courants, comme celui de la recherche-action, la recherche collaborative est donc relativement récente. Ce n'est néanmoins pas un bloc monolithique. Dans les années 1990, on parlait en effet de collaboration de chercheurs-formateurs avec des enseignants dans les écoles. Mes collègues et moi-même avons ressenti assez vite le besoin de conceptualiser la démarche, à partir de nos expériences de terrain de recherche pour montrer, entre autres, qu'il s'agit bien là d'une véritable démarche de recherche, et non pas d'une simple collaboration avec des enseignants. Cette recherche collaborative est née au Québec en réponse à une double préoccupation. D'une part, il existait une volonté de rapprochement entre le monde de la recherche et l'univers de la pratique professionnelle. Nous souhaitions aussi de réagir à une vision, très répandue alors, selon laquelle la recherche éclaire quelque chose de la pratique, mais laisse les praticiens extérieurs à la démarche, et ne prend pas en compte leurs questions, notamment relatives à la profession, qui les concernent de près.Jean-Luc Rinaudo : C'était en quelque sorte une façon de considérer les enseignants seulement comme des objets de la recherche.
La construction de l’identité professionnelle est analysée, dans ce texte, à partir de discours de recherche avec des professeurs des écoles et des professeurs de lycées et collèges débutants. Ici, l’accent est porté sur le versant subjectif du processus de construction identitaire. L’analyse fait apparaître la mise en place de modalités propres aux professeurs du primaire, d’une part, et aux professeurs du secondaire, d’autre part, articulées principalement autour des couples instit-enfant et prof-élèves.
Ce texte tente de repérer à partir de plusieurs travaux de recherche menés en sciences de l’éducation comment la virtualité vient remettre en question la situation professionnelle des enseignants, en particulier dans les dimensions de vécus inconscients de l’espace et du temps.
