La investigación trata de comprender cómo está experimentando el profesorado la transformación desde la docencia presencial a la docencia online como consecuencia del COVID-19 y sus implicaciones profesionales y educativas. Se presenta una exploración inicial de un estudio más amplio que utiliza un enfoque metodológico cualitativo. Mediante dieciocho entrevistas semiestructuradas a docentes de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria y Bachillerato de Andalucía se (re)construye la experiencia del profesorado durante la educación remota. Se evidencia la precariedad de las infraestructuras digitales disponibles, la falta de recursos y las limitaciones digitales existentes. Se alerta de las consecuencias educativas en términos de desigualdad para el alumnado y la oportunidad de mercado para el edubisness. Por otro lado, se revela una vivencia angustiada del profesorado ante el abandono percibido por parte de la administración educativa. Se denuncian dificultades ante la urgencia de la respuesta educativa “improvisada” donde el profesorado no cuenta con los recursos, la formación y los medios para poder desarrollarla. Esto ha redundado en tensiones emocionales, malestar docente y procesos de “auto-responsabilización” en el seguimiento educativo del alumnado que han originado desequilibrios en las dimensiones que determinan la identidad profesional del profesorado.
La profesión docente ocupa un espacio central en los debates contemporáneos en el ámbito de la política educativa. Este artículo pretende comprender las transformaciones que puede estar experimentando el profesionalismo docente como consecuencia de las exigencias que plantean las prácticas políticas de la Nueva Gestión Pública (NGP). Para ello, se utiliza un enfoque metodológico cualitativo que combina las teorías de los participantes, las teorías de los investigadores y las teorías formales existentes. Concretado en un método inductivo, se sigue la propuesta de la Teoría Fundamentada. Como técnica de recogida de información se utiliza la entrevista cualitativa. Dieciséis han sido los participantes de la investigación: cuatro directores y doce docentes. La información ha sido analizada con el software QSR NVivo12. Los resultados muestran que el trabajo del profesorado está siendo reconfigurado. Se evidencia que las prácticas neoliberales están modificando la lógica profesional. El profesorado manifiesta un exceso de control y de desconfianza que hace el trabajo más incómodo y repercute en problemas de salud derivados del estrés que denuncian sufrir. Se experimentan contradicciones entre las convicciones profesionales y los imperativos que propone la NGP, que transforma al docente en un «técnico ejecutor». En este sentido, se evidencian nuevas formas de gestionar las tensiones a través de espacios de resistencia profesional y «adaptaciones» a las exigencias de la agenda neoliberal. Esto plantea que la tradicional dicotomía entre profesionalismo ocupacional y organizacional puede estar difuminándose, dando lugar a nuevos enfoques profesionales basados en habilidades híbridas.
El profesionalismo ha pasado por distintos periodos contingentes e históricos que descartan límites discretos, transiciones que arrastran características que perduran en el tiempo y otras que se van incorporando como consecuencia de las demandas producidas por los cambios políticos y sociales. La comunicación estudia la reestructuración de la profesionalidad docente como consecuencia de tecnologías políticas de gobierno, amparadas por procesos globales de neoliberalización y privatización, centrándose concretamente en lógicas resituadas de la Nueva Gestión Pública (NgP), y los nuevos modelos negociados de gobernanza en red que configuran la política pública. Se examina la transición desde la edad de oro de las burocracias profesionales y el profesionalismo ocupacional, caracterizado por la autonomía, discrecionalidad y certidumbre profesional hasta el profesionalismo organizacional, basado en la estandarización, la medición y la performatividad (Evetts, 2013). Posteriormente, en el contexto de la Nueva Gobernanza Pública (NGP), el profesorado continúa reprofesionalizándose hasta entenderse como un socio más de una red diversa conformada por agentes y actores interdependientes que intervienen en la gestación de la política (Hendrikx & van Gestel, 2017). En ella, la autonomía y legitimidad profesional se definen dentro de los límites de la red, y su responsabilidad se dirime ante un grupo multifacético de partes interesadas (Brandsen & Honingh, 2013).
