In recent years, advancing industrialization and rapid climate change have considerably influenced the global consumption pattern of natural assets. Undoubtedly, this massive utilization of natural resources and hazardous environmental emissions have profoundly curbed the worldwide socio-economic context, substantially causing this ecological burden to amplify the harmful effects on countries’ prosperity. This study aims to improve the sustainable performance of manufacturing firms in Pakistan through innovation capabilities and green process innovation. The study has adopted a quantitative approach, and data has been accumulated through a structured questionnaire distributed among 299 employees working in manufacturing firms. A structural equation model using Smart PLS software was used to analyze the collected data from the respondents. The results have identified a significant correlation between innovation capabilities, green process innovation, and sustainable performance. The buffering role of digital leadership enhances the employees’ creative skills and sustainable performance. Additionally, the extent that green product innovation plays a mediating role between innovation capabilities, green process innovation, and sustainable performance has been contemplated. Henceforth, the current study also analyzes the moderating role of digital leadership in sustainable performance.
This study examines the role of narcissism as an antecedent of unethical pro-organizational behavior and the extent to which this may lead to feelings of guilt and shame. It also investigates the role of organizational change as a moderating variable between narcissism and unethical pro-organizational behavior. It presents the analysis of data from a three-wave survey of 287 employees in the telecommunication sector of Pakistan. The results show that narcissism positively influences unethical pro-organizational behavior, and that high rates of perceived organizational change increases this effect. It also shows that, in these circumstances, narcissists are less likely to experience emotions of guilt and shame. The study contributes to the literature on unethical pro-organizational behavior through its use of trait activation theory and its focus on the consequences of unethical pro-organizational behavior in terms of its emotional impact. It also offers some practical advice about how to reduce the risks of unethical pro-organizational behavior and dealing with the role that organizational change has to play in this.
The excellence of corporate governance in companies lies in their ability to adopt the corporate social responsibility (CSR), which enhances their growth. This study examines the effect of agency cost, firm size, and CSR disclosure on the firms’ growth. Specifically, the study analyzed the agency cost and firms’ size as the moderators that influence the firms’ performance asymmetrically. In its approach, the study compiled data of 300 Pakistani listed companies, which have a significant concern with CSR for the period 2010–2018. Using the 2SLS and GMM instrumental panel regressions, our empirical results show that the agency cost is detrimental to the firms’ growth. In contrast, the firms’ size boosts the firms’ growth. Moreover, the growth of firms with leverage declines and the presence of independent directors improves the firms’ growth.
