Autonomous learning shifts the focus from teaching to learning in relation to lifelong learning skills. This system helps students to get direct skills and knowledge from different sources rather than focusing on passing their examinations. However, lecturers remain as an advisor and guider. This paper describes the application of autonomous learning and why it is essential to be promoted massively again especially during and after the COVID-19 issue. This study aims to re-promote the practice of autonomous learning as an alternative strategy in learning system due to social distance policy resulted from pandemic covid-19 era. This research has used qualitative research method, both primary and secondary information were collected from various sources such as observation, reading published articles, newspapers, books, social media, universities reports and students’ forums, as well as document analysis on the previous research of autonomous learning. Results of the research shows that autonomous learning is a best alternative learning strategic in this tragedy pandemic covid-19 era. However, in order to facilitate and enable this learning student’s readiness is more important, this is because it is a self-learning approach. As the conclusion and suggestion, the development of digital service and online studies have increased and stimulated the use of this system.
The purpose of this study is to access and describe the application and development of competence models in public sectors particularly in the disrupting era. The development of technology, organization change and innovation have increased the necessity and application of competency models in public sectors based on hard and soft human skills. However, private sectors are doing well in applying competence models compared to public sectors. Moreover, public organization systems in the World have undergone many different reforms in order to handle and copy with issues happening in disrupting era. In this study, a qualitative research method was used based on explaining the concept of competence model, drawing insights from theories, reading different articles and publications. Furthermore, competency model is a very essential tool in human resource systems and public institutions practice because it guides and develops human resource skills, knowledge and behavioral that enable an employee to perform their job effective particularly in the challenging era. We would like to suggest that public institutions must apply competence models and create quick strategic basic reforms in order to undergo and copy with new changes or challenges like what private sectors do in dealing with disrupting issues.
This research is aiming at discussing the benefits of learning English and Japanese languages simultaneously to cross-cultural competency. This article is also having a further discussion about the human resources development benefits gained from learning the two languages and cultures. English and Japanese are two languages that are famous as foreign languages for international business. It is because The United States, Japan, and the major economic forces of Western Europe are developed countries whose infrastructures and well-established financial markets are conducive to the operation and potential success of multinational corporations (MNCs). This study is a qualitative study with explanatory research as its method. The data gained by analyzing the perceptions drawn from the existing literature of various scholars documented in journals and books connected to Japanese and English languages, as well as human resources development issues. The results showed that learning Japanese and English simultaneously is also a good method in teaching the worker or students that will work in an international setting in having the comprehension of cross-cultural issues in general. The differences of those languages in terms of culture such as direct and indirect behavior in speaking, personal address system, and polite speech will become an example of understanding two different foreign language categories: high and low context cultures.
This study examines and describes the effect of applying tax incentives through the tax allowance policy on the growth of direct investment in Indonesia. Legal research is the method of inquiry employed. Legal issues are analyzed using doctrinal research to draw logical conclusions. Legal research enhances the quality of research projects. The application of tax incentives has resulted in an increase in total investment of 187%, and the number of recipients of tax incentives has increased from 69 to 71 and continues to grow annually. Additionally, the incentives have a positive effect on other nations. Several obstacles and barriers exist in its implementation, including inefficiency in the government system, political relations with businesses, and economic stability.
