Teologiczno-estetyczne wyznaczniki sakralności dzieła muzycznegoPrzyglądając się kierunkom rozwoju sztuki współczesnej, trudno nie zgodzić się ze stwierdzeniem Carla Friedricha von Weizsäckera (1912Weizsäckera ( -2007, który powiedział, że "od przeszło wieku sztuka jest najczulszym sejsmografem nadchodzą-cego kryzysu ludzkości"1 . Jednym z mocno odczuwalnych objawów tego kryzysu jest aktualny stan muzyki kościelnej. Do naszych świątyń przeniknęły bowiem produkty muzycznej pop-kultury, których teksty, rytmy i melodie nie mają nic wspólnego z tajemnicą sacrum. Świadczy to o postępującej degradacji kultury muzycznej oraz paradoksalnej tendencji do sekularyzowania liturgii.Na przestrzeni swej historii Kościół z wielką troską i ostrożnością podchodził do muzyki w liturgii. Świadectwem tego są wypowiedzi papieży naszych czasów. Wobec sekularyzacji zagrażającej muzyce kościelnej bł. Jan Paweł II w wydanym w 2003 roku liście Mosso dal vivo desiderio ostrzegał, że nie wszystko, co znajduje się poza świątynią (profanum), jest jednakowo zdatne do tego, by przekroczyć jej próg. […] Z drugiej zaś strony znaczenie kategorii "muzyka sakralna" uległo dzisiaj takiemu poszerzeniu, że obejmuje repertuar, który nie może stać się częścią kultu bez pogwałcenia ducha i norm liturgii 2 .Wobec takiego stanu rzeczy bardzo trafna wydaje się diagnoza postawiona przez Benedykta XVI: "Tam, gdzie podupada liturgia, podupada również musica sacra. Tam, gdzie prawidłowo pojmuje się i przeżywa liturgię, tam też rozwija się dobra muzyka kościelna" 3 . W sytuacji kryzysu muzyki sakralnej niezwykle istotne jest zatem zespolenie wysiłków tak artystów, jak i teologów, aby muzyczna kate-

Jego uczestnicy wzywali do głoszenia Dobrej Nowiny za pośrednictwem via pulchritudinis. Otwiera to nową przestrzeń współ-pracy duszpasterzy i artystów, a w szczególny sposób teologów i kompozytorów złączonych troską o to, aby piękno wiary na nowo zajaśniało w świętej liturgii, której integralną częścią jest "muzyka na miarę świętości" Dobrze by było, aby wszelka katecheza zwracała szczególną uwagę na "drogę piękna" (via pulchritudinis).[…] Wszystkie formy autentycznego piękna mogą być uznane za drogę prowadzącą do spotkania z Panem Jezusem. Nie chodzi o szerzenie relatywizmu estetycznego, który może zaciemnić nierozdzielny związek między prawdą, dobrem i pięknem, ale o przywrócenie szacunku dla piękna, by móc dotrzeć do ludzkiego serca i by w nim zajaśniała prawda oraz dobroć Zmartwychwstałego. Jeśli, jak twierdzi św. Augustyn, kochamy tylko to, co jest piękne, Syn, który stał się człowiekiem, objawieniem nieskończonego piękna, jest w najwyższym stopniu godny miłości i pociąga nas ku sobie więzią miłości. Tak
Terapeutyczne znaczenie muzyki jest zagadnieniem wieloaspektowym. Aby zrozumieć jego podstawy istotna jest refleksja o charakterze filozoficznym i teologicznym. Już w starożytności istniało powszechne przekonanie o uzdrawiającym oddziaływaniu muzyki. Świadectwem tego jest spuścizna szkoły pitagorejskiej oraz wielkich myślicieli antycznych, zwłaszcza Platona i Arystotelesa. Ich badaniom zawdzięczamy pierwsze sklasyfikowanie oraz systematyczne wykorzystanie w praktyce określonych rodzajów muzyki, mogących oddziaływać na człowieka. Jednym z podstawowych założeń antycznego pojmowania muzyki było przekonanie, że może nas ona uspokajać, pocieszać, odrywać od codziennych trosk, a także pobudzać i wprowadzać w stan uniesienia, a nawet szału. W ten sposób greccy myśliciele nadali filozoficzne podstawy sięgającemu zamierzchłej starożytności przeświadczeniu o terapeutycznej mocy muzyki i jej związku z medycyną. Sformułowali oni katartyczną (gr. katharsis) koncepcję muzyki jako oczyszczającego lekarstwa dla ludzkiej duszy, nadając jej funkcję etyczną i wychowawczą. Wzmianki o uzdrawiającym charakterze muzyki można odnaleźć również w przekazach biblijnych. Najbardziej znacząca jest tu postać króla Dawida – władcy, wojownika, ale także niezwykle uzdolnionego poety, kompozytora i muzyka, który grą na cytrze uspokajał ataki szału Saula. Starożytna idea muzycznego katharsis, czyli oczyszczenia obejmującego różne aspekty ludzkiego życia, stała się źródłem średniowiecznych koncepcji teologicznych i medycznych, których najbardziej znaczącą reprezentantką jest św. Hildegarda z Bingen.
Cnoty teologalne (wiara, nadzieja, miłość) uzdalniają władze człowieka do uczestnictwa w naturze Bożej, do życia w jedności z Trójcą Świętą. Ukierunkowują one życie chrześcijańskie do pełnej komunii z Bogiem. Ich początkiem, motywem i przedmiotem jest Bóg, poznawany przez wiarę, w którym pokładamy nadzieję i którego miłujemy dla Niego samego. Cnoty teologalne kształtują, pobudzają i charakteryzują działanie moralne chrześcijanina – życie teologalne. Są wszczepione przez Boga w dusze wiernych, by uzdolnić ich do działania jako dzieci Boże i do zasługiwania na życie wieczne. Odsłaniają cel życia ludzkiego – Bóg powołuje nas do swojego własnego szczęścia. Cnoty teologalne stanowią rękojmię obecności i działania Ducha Świętego we władzach człowieka. Życie moralne chrześcijan jest podtrzymywane przez dary Ducha Świętego. Są one trwałymi dyspozycjami, które czynią człowieka uległym, by iść za poruszeniami Ducha Świętego.
