Processing of coconut fruit in Gunung Megang Village, Gunung Megang Muaraenim District aims to produce pure oil or Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) which is the result of processed fresh coconut fruit by fermentation without going through a heating process, no additional chemicals, dyes, and preservatives so that it can survive. as vegetable oil. The method in this research is experimental. The results showed that making VCO using 2 coconuts produced 100 ml of VCO while VCO using 3 coconuts produced 300 ml of pure oil. It is hoped that the use of coconut fruit is not only sold in the form of unprocessed fruit but coconut fruit can be processed into pure oil or Virgin Coconut Oil and can be developed more broadly through village entrepreneurship programs so as to increase people's income, especially the people of Gunung Megang Village.
AbstractThe use of additives in foods that are not wise can cause various health problems, including allergies, strep throat, poisoning, growth abnormalities, can even cause death. In connection with this, to reduce the negative impacts arising from the use of food additives need attention from academic people from universities to delivered counseling about the introduction of additives in food and their impact on health, especially for students of SMA Negeri 1 Belimbing Muara Enim, South Sumatra Province. This activity as a whole can be said to work well and successfully, seen from the enthusiasm of students in giving questions, the target number of extension participants (100%), and the ability of students to correctly answer the question sheets (86.6%). This shows that the existence of this activity has a positive impact on students in providing information and raising awareness about negative effects of consuming food or snacks in schools that contain food additives. Keywords: Additives; Food; Health Effects.
Ionized alkaline drinking water is alkaline and has a high redox potential value which is a good antioxidant. Considering the consumption of alkaline drinking water there are still pros and cons in society because research on ionized alkaline water in Indonesia has not been widely published yet, so the researchers intend to conduct research on the physical, chemical and bacteriological parameters of ionized alkaline drinking water produced by Kangen Water LeveLuk machines SD 501 with the aim of knowing the quality of ionized alkaline drinking water, based on physical, chemical and bacteriological parameters. This research is descriptive qualitative. The quality inspection of ionized alkaline drinking water is carried out at the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office Laboratory, which includes examining physical parameters (odor, turbidity, taste, color, amount of dissolved solids (TDS)), chemical parameters (including pH, iron, fluoride, hardness checks , chloride, chromium valence 6, manganese, nitrate, nitrite, zinc, cyanide, sulfate, copper, aluminum), and bacteriological testing (including tests for coliform and colitinja). Based on the results of the study, the samples of ionized alkaline drinking water produced by households located in Lorong Amilin Rt 4 Rw 2, Kelurahan Tangga Takat, Seberang Ulu II, Plaju Palembang fulfilled the requirements stipulated under the Minister of Health Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia No.492 / MENKES / PER / IV / 2010.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh hasil kandungan logam berat Pb pada air dan sedimen di perairan Sungsang belum melebihi baku mutu yang ditetapkan berdasarkan Peraturan Gubernur Sumsel No. 16 Tahun 2005 dan berdasarkan standar sediment quality guideline values for metals and associated levels of concern to be used in doing assessment of sediment quality tahun 2003 dan menurut IACD/CEDA (International Association of Draging Companies/Central Dreging Association) tahun 1997.
Sungsang Village is located at the mouth of the Musi River making this area dense with settlements and transportation activities, this contributes to damage and results in decreased water quality. This study aims to analyze the concentrations of Pb and Cd in water, sediment and white shrimp (Penaeus merguiensis) and examine the level of accumulation of Pb and Cd through the BCF values of Pb and Cd in white shrimp (Penaeus merguiensis) in water and sediment in the waters of Sungsang I Village. Results the study showed that the average concentration of Pb in water in the waters of Sungsang I Village was 0.104 mg/L, exceeding the threshold value in Kep.Minister of State for the Environment No. 51 of 2004. The average Pb content in sediments is 24.892 mg/Kg, still below the quality standards of the Guidelines for the Protection and Management of Aquatic Sediment Quality in Ontario. The average concentration of Pb in jerbung shrimp is 0.809 mg/Kg, this value exceeds the limit set by BPOM. The results of the Cd test showed that the average water content, sediment, and jerbung shrimp were 0.013 mg/L, 0.174 mg/Kg and 0.127 mg/Kg. The BCF Pb value of shrimp-sediment was 7.779 and BCF Pb of shrimp-sediment was 0.033. The BCF Cd of shrimp-sediments was 9.769 and the BCF Cd of shrimp-sediments was 0.730. The Pb and Cd bioconcentration values of the jerbung shrimp (Penaeus merguiensis) in water and sediment are included in the low accumulative category, because the BCF value is <100.
