Durante la Guerra Civil española (1936-1939), casi todos los miembrosde los comités dirigentes de la Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT) y de la Federación Anarquista Ibérica (FAI) militaban en algún grupo de afinidad, institución específicamente anarquista que permitía a sus miembros forjar esferas de influencia propias al otorgarles una disciplina interna y unas aspiraciones políticas comunes.Considerando que, a pesar de ello, la historiografía aún no ha integrado el análisis de las dinámicas grupales en el estudio del anarcosindicalismo, este trabajo pretende, además de destacar la potencialidad del nuevo enfoque interpretativo, demostrar la importancia de las relaciones de afinidad anarquista para explicar la fractura del apoyo libertario a la política de resistencia impulsada por el Gobierno de la República en guerra del doctor Negrín (1937-1939), centrando el análisis en las dialécticas de poder desatadas en torno a la Comisión de Propaganda Confederal y Anarquista del Centro.
La historia cuenta cada vez con más medios para su divulgación. Precisamente por ello, debemos preguntarnos cuál es y plantearnos cuál debería ser la función social que cumple el conocimiento histórico que se transmite a la sociedad. Para ello, partimos de las reflexiones de E. Hobsbawm, E. P. Thompson y J. Kocka, tres historiadores que proceden del ámbito historiográfico de la historia social y que, dada su práctica historiográfica y vital, resultan claves para desarrollar esta problemática.
Este artículo examina la violencia política desplegada en España durante 1936 usando la provincia de Guadalajara como ejemplo. El objetivo consiste en averiguar si hubo conexiones o no entre las acciones colectivas anteriores y posteriores a la rebelión militar del 18 de julio. Primero, relata y analiza la movilización social y política desarrollada durante la primera mitad del año. Después, describe y estudia la violencia política del resto del año. Las tesis principales del artículo sostienen que a violencia política no fue un factor determinante del proceso político durante los primeros seis meses y medio de 1936, que no hubo continuidad alguna entre la violencia política anterior y posterior al inicio de la guerra y que la conflictividad social y política previa a la guerra fue solo uno de los varios factores que explican la violencia política que siguió a la insurrección militar.
