The advanced pedagogical experience testifies to the presence of a number of methods in the practice of teaching language disciplines used by teachers during profile training at school or other educational institutions. With the development of modern information technologies, the role of traditional methods of studying language disciplines in the educational process is changing to the advantage of more innovative (interactive) methods of studying language disciplines. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to investigate the peculiarities of the application of innovative methods in language disciplines during profile training implementation. To achieve the purpose specified, an academic paper uses a number of general scientific (method of theoretical analysis, method of observation, method of description and method of synthesis) and empirical (experimental method, modeling method and calculation method) research methods. The practical reflection of the state and dynamics of mastering language disciplines during profile training is demonstrated through: the efficiency level of the applied innovative methods of studying language disciplines; the dynamics of the average number of students, involved in studying foreign language per student at the level of higher secondary education; rating of the countries of European Union and Ukraine on English proficiency according to the Global rating of countries and regions; provisions of New Ukrainian School Concept. It has been established that in the countries of European Union the practice of studying language disciplines is based on the translation method, the method of meaningful and language integrated learning, the methods of using digital technologies and the method of using creative objects. The study has revealed that such countries of European Union, as Luxembourg, Romania and Finland have significantly high levels of foreign language proficiency; however, such levels of language command are significantly low in Greece, Denmark, Spain, Germany and Portugal. It has been established that Ukraine is classified as a country with a low level of English language command (proficiency) in the Global Ranking of Countries and Regions (according to data of 2019, 2017 and 2016) and a moderate level of English language proficiency (according to data of 2018 and 2015). The following types of innovative methods, currently used by teachers in language disciplines during profile training, have been summarized, namely: the use of information and computer technology in the process of language learning; the use of developmental methods in the form of dialogue, discussion, seminar or brainstorming; construction of the educational process in the form of a game, project, team game; introduction of creative and interactive tasks into the educational process.
The article analyzes the effective electronic resources used in teaching Ukrainian as a second language. The authors highlight informational, educational, and controlling resources. Using electronic resources in the Ukrainian language teaching and learning process facilitates the development of an active vocabulary and critical thinking of the international students, lexical and linguistic competence, intensive study of phonetics, spelling, grammatical features of the language, and the diversity of the educational process. The significant effect of these resources in learning a foreign language is related to digitization and how it has affected the modern young generation, who cannot imagine their lives without varieties of gadgets. Mobile applications, which can be downloaded to any device, are designed for students to learn the lexical minimum, develop the correct pronunciation, improve their spelling and vocabulary, and practice making sentences. At the same time, the use of electronic resources when studying Ukrainian as a second language requires the students to be thoroughly self-organized and motivated. They are programmed only to reproduce a certain lexical or grammatical field, have no student-teacher or student-student feedback, aimed at checking the level of knowledge assimilation at a certain stage. Electronic resources should be used, under the control of a teacher, as a simulator for mastering the lexical minimum and grammar. These resources cannot replace communicative situations and speech cases, during which students actively use vocabulary and master speech constructions, and thus acquire lexical competence.
The purpose of the academic paper is to reveal and define the set of competences of teachers of higher educational institutions, corresponding to the concept of “lifelong learning”. The study was conducted by surveying four higher educational institutions in Ukraine and Poland. Along with this, the basic components of the general competence of teachers of higher educational institutions are as follows: professional, psychological-communicative and academic competence. A set of certain features has been selected for a clear and concise essence of competences. It has been established that the competence of introduction of innovative learning technologies in the educational process, research, digital and competence of lifelong learning are relevant in accordance with the requirements. Systematization of indicators of professional, psychological-communicative and academic competence has made it possible to reveal that the improvement of these characteristics is achieved through continuous learning. It has been proved that the development of tools for assessing the competence teachers of higher educational institutions will help identify positive or negative trends.
Objective of the paper is to disclose the linguistic features of political manipulation of the times of the Revolution of Dignity. In order to achieve this goal, a number of tasks need to be done: to identify the main types of political manipulations, which used in the modern political language; to analyze the transcripts of meetings of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (from November 2013 to February 2014); to identify the main manipulative techniques, which used by speakers. Object of the submitted work is manipulative techniques in the political language. Material is the transcript of meetings of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, recorded between November 21, 2013 and February 28, 2014. A descriptive method and method of analysis of intelligence information applied. The study identified the main manipulative techniques used by Ukrainian politicians during the Revolution of Attraction. Conclusions. The detailed analysis of the verbatim transcripts of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from November 2013 to February 2014 makes it possible to talk about the active use of conditional manipulations and the rapid change in the methods used by the authorities as events unfold on Independence Square. Whereas at the beginning of the Revolution of Virtuous, for the most part, manipulative texts with a large number of rhetorical figures, emotionally colored vocabulary, hyperbolization and parallel structures used, then in the later period, politicians are already using language cliche, expressive techniques, and evaluative vocabulary. The speeches of the authorities are gradually shrinking. If in November their speeches are deployed, they cover a number of issues, there is a discussion (as recorded in the transcripts), then in January, the statements of politicians are short, aggressive. Rhetoric gives way to local concrete political actions, in particular, the adoption of the notorious laws of 16 January.
