Since the Covid-19 pandemic, learning at the university or school level has implemented online learning. Even though the learning is conducted online, the teacher candidate's scientific argumentation skills must be trained. One way is through the MIKIR approach. The purpose of this research is analyzing the science pre-service teachers’ scientific argumentation skills by using MIKIR approach during pandemic covid-19. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study with a one-shot case study design. The research sample was 50 pre-service teachers. The instrument was an argumentation essay test based on the argumentation aspects according to Toulmin; claim, data, warrant and backing. The science pre-service teachers’ scientific argumentation skills will be analyzed through the one-sample T test assisted by the SPSS version 22 application. The results of this study is shown by the T score, 0.010> 0.05, is larger than a significance level. It means that MIKIR approach during pandemic covid-19 can practice significantly to the scientific argumentation skills of science pre-service teachers. Keywords: science pre-service teachers’ scientific argumentation skills, MIKIR approach, science learning during pandemic covid-19 ABSTRAK Sejak pandemi covid-19, pembelajaran baik di tingkat universitas atau sekolah menerapkan pembelajaran daring (online).
ABSTRACT.This study aimed to comprehend the initial needs of chemistry games (CGs) media through field observation at Senior high schools in Pekanbaru. The data was processed quantitatively and used to determine the type of game that requires further development. This quantitative descriptive research used questionnaires and interviews for collecting data and used purposive sampling as a sampling technique. The number of respondents is 18 teachers and 140 students from 7 Senior high schools in Pekanbaru. The results showed: 1) The needs of learning media generally varies at each school; 42,86% needs an electronic-based chemistry games media and 57,14% needs both non-electronic and electronic-based chemistry games media, 2) Students demanded an instructional media that educational, interactive, exciting and fun, with a game form, 3) Teachers overwhelmed making an instructional teaching media.
An in-depth knowledge of the periodic table is one of the most fundamental keys to understand the basic principles of chemistry. Memorizing and understanding the systemic chemical elements is one optional strategy to study the position of each element in the periodic table. However, memorization strategies are generally tricky for students and are not "long term memory". Therefore, it is necessary to have alternative learning that can help understand chemical elements with "long term memory." In this case, the researchers present a modification of the UNO card game called "Chemuno" with the advantages of combining a chemistry triangle approach that implemented chemicals in daily life. Such formulated game is carried out to kindly understand elements of the periodic table and recognize the groups and periods of each element. The development of the current research uses the 4D model with restrictions on the development stage. The game "Chemuno-based Chemistry Triangle" is thereby declared valid with a percentage of 92.5% and practically with a percentage of 96.86%. The use of such game is limited to schools used as trial sites yet it can be used in other schools with the similar students' characteristics.
Analysis of media needs is crucial before developing a learning media product. This analysis should immediately look at a need in the field and consider the media according to the criteria and characteristics needed, but this is still ruled out and deemed unnecessary. This study aimed to analyze information about special needs analysis on non-electronic media. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using the NVIVO Plus assisted survey method. The sampling selection is a total of 23 schools were obtained consisting of 23 teachers and 230 students. Data collection were carried out through interviews and questionnaires. The results of the study showed that variations in learning media are still not visible due to the various obstacles encountered by teachers. Students want a variety of non-electronic learning media that is interesting, practical, fun, and easy to understand. Some schools still need non-electronic learning media to support the chemistry learning process, one of which is educational game media, modules, and worksheets based on learning model approaches, as well as a combination of the utility of non-electronic and electronic media.
The present study was carried out to identify the misconception of sound properties among elementary school students. Conducted through descriptive quantitative, there were 69 students of fifth grade of Public Elementary School 192 Pekanbaru as the chosen sample. The instrument used was a Four Tier Test diagnostic test and interviews related to misconceptions. Based on the results obtained in this line of study, it was figured out that the level of students’ understanding on the sound characteristics was 56.16%. The results of this study indicated that the causes of misconceptions in students come from the students’ understanding, low student retention, wrong intusions, teacher learning methods, and reference books.
The purpose of the research is to design a daily life-based practical guide that has been tested for validity and practicality based on the assessment of the validator, teacher and student responses. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D research design covering the stages (1) Define ( 2) Design (3) Develop (4) Dessiminate, but based on time constraints, this research is limited to the Develop stage. The location of the research was carried out at SMAN 2 Rambah Hilir with the subjects being 2 chemistry teachers and 10 students of class XI MIA. Based on the research that has been done, the validation assessment of media experts and material experts is 86.85% (very valid), the practicality test of the chemistry teacher response assessment is 86.52% (very practical) and the practicality test of student responses is 89 0.06% (very practical).
