Kevlar fabrics treated with MTMS modified silica based STF showed better impact energy absorption as compared to APTES modified and control silica based STF treated fabrics, attributed to changes in interactions between fabrics and silica particles.
A comprehensive review on the metal oxide nanostructures incorporated/immobilized paper matrices by ex situ and in situ methods for various applications.
Paper sheets were fabricated by incorporating TiO 2 nanowires (NWs) (diameters ca. 20 to 40 nm and length between 1 to 7 m) as filler by the standard Handsheet making procedure. The TiO 2 NWs were synthesized by hydrothermal method using commercial TiO 2 as precursor. It was observed that the TiO 2 NWs incorporation in the paper sheet improves the optical properties such as brightness from 55.2 to 61.9% ISO and opacity from 93.1 to 97.5% ISO. The TiO 2 NWs as well as the NWs incorporated paper sheets were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
