This study aims to examine the suitability of Piaget's cognitive development stage to grade VII students in Karawang regency, whether it has arrived at the formal operation stage, as described in Piaget's theory. The subjects of this study were 32 students with an age between 12 to 16 years. This study uses the instrument of Test of Logical Operations (TLO) in mathematics. TLO consists of 14 questions and students are given time to answer all questions for 45 minutes. The results showed 41.18% of male students in the initial formal operating phase, 47.06% in the final concrete operation stage and 11.76% in the initial concrete operation phase. While 53.33% of female students were in the initial formal operating phase, 40% at the final concrete operation stage and 6.67% at the initial concrete operation stage. Average score of TOL Piaget male students ie 27.13 and female students ie 25.47 which means the average student tend to at the final concrete stage. The students' mathematical understanding based on 7 logical operations shows that on the type of proposition, series and logical multiplication the average male student is sufficient while the type of classification, compensation, probability, and correlation are not sufficient. The average female students in the types of propositions, series, compensation, and logical multiplication are sufficient, while the classification type, the probability and the correlation are insufficient.
The purpose of this study was to determine student's mathematical reasoning ability in social arithmetic material. This type of study is qualitative with descriptive method. The subjects used in this study were 37 students of 8 th grade junior hight school 13 Bekasi City then selected the subjects by purposive sampling namely one student who had high, medium, and low of mathematical ability. The research instrument used in this study namely one test in the form of an open-ended description on the indicator of mathematical reasoning ability which is to checking the validity of an argument in social arithmetic material. Data collection techniques in this research carried out were data that had been obtained analyzed with descriptive statistics and interviews were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. Based on the results of the analysis of the answer of each student's, namely students with high and medium of mathematical ability have been able to solve problem in social arithmetic material and meet one indicator of mathematical reasoning ability namely checking the validity of an argument, then student with low of mathematical ability have not been able to solve problem in the social arithmetic material and does not meet one indicator of mathematical reasoning ability namely checking the validity of an argument.
The majority of math teachers use Student Worksheet (LKS) traded by the publisher's distributor. The contents of LKS are less interesting and innovative. LKS does not help the participants to collect the material and learn their interest in mathematics learning. None or steps in the LKS which allows participants to discuss the concepts they are studying. According to the theory of constructivism a learner in learning must be able to mengkontruksi knowledge to understand a material. On that basis, we prepare training on the preparation of LKS. Activities undertaken through socialization with methods that in this devotion program is a method of lectures and exercises supported by discussion and question and answer. Output target after the implementation of this Program is the increase of the ability of Junior High School teachers who teach in class VII in preparing the LKS as well as the product of LKS.Keywords: 1 Contructivism, LKS, Mathematics Teacher. The pollution that occurred along the Citarum River in West Java has been the concern of the local government. Pollution not only comes from a plant and household, but also from industries. In this study the authors use descriptive quantitative method, where researchers will describe and compare the existing variables to see the possibilities that arise. Variable used is the number of industries that exist and how the impact against BOD. Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) is a measuring instrument that is widely used to see the quality of oxygen levels in the water. In this paper shows that there is a possibility if BOD increases if the number of industries increases.
