The digital duo of the Internet and Mobile brought a sea change in production mode, economic, and market structure along with trade. A world where there are no time and space-bound eased business and commerce by extending the time of operation and eliminating the geographical boundary that led to a boost in worldwide trade. Here, the impressive performance of the South and Southeast Asia regarding e-commerce earns a special mention. At this context the present article considers 18 countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam) belonging to South and South-East Asia along with China for six years (2009-2014) and opts for a panel data analysis to determine the impact of digitalization on International Trade. The findings point to the fact that digitalization has a positive and statistically significant impact on trade volume.
Following UNICEF’s analysis of National Family Health Survey-III Data (NFHS-III), it was opined that households with access to better sanitation and better access to improved water sources have much better infant survival rates than the others. Sahu et al. (2015, The Indian journal of medical research, 141(5), 709), Arun et al. (2017, International Conference on Cognitive Computing and Information Processing (pp. 81–92), Springer) and Tripathy and Mishra (2017, Journal of Tropical Pediatrics, 63(6), 431–439) supported these findings. However, Banerjee (2020a , Journal of Health Management, 22(1), 57–66), analysing NFHS-IV data, has vehemently criticised such findings and showed using regression with robust standard errors that improved access to better water sources leads to higher infant mortality. In another article published in the same year, Banerjee (2020b , Journal of Health Management, 22(3), 466–471) explained this paradox. Now with NFHS-V data coming out, time is apt to test the robustness of Banerjee’s findings (2002a). However, owing to the incomplete NFHS-V data published so far, unlike Banerjee (2002a) that has used data of 29 states, the present analysis is based on only 17 states. The findings support that the findings of Banerjee (2002a) were robust.
The majority of businesses have adopted human resource strategies that promote environmental sustainability while taking into account minimizing environmental damage and contamination. The chapter investigates how business organizations can create a sustainable environment with reference to selected companies in India. The senior management of an organization is therefore also responsible for making sure that the staff is encouraged to pursue the social, ecological, and financial benefits of living in a greener environment. The chapter highlights the value of a green environment as well as the initiatives taken by various businesses to preserve a sustainable environment. Evaluation of the green human resource management (GHRM) predicted results and anticipated challenges while attempting to create a greener environment. The chapter focuses on the corporate social responsibility effort of selected companies and how much they are spending in CSR initiatives toward a green environment.
Though ethical leadership and the well-being of employees have been important topics of discussion for research in recent years, just a few studies have looked at the impact of ethical leadership on employee well-being. This chapter aims to examine the effect of ethical leadership on the well-being of employees in the manufacturing firm and to examine the mediating role of employee engagement. The purposive sampling method was used to collect the data through a structured questionnaire, and a total of 264 responses were collected, which were analyzed on Smart PLS version 3.3.2. The findings suggest that there exists a strong correlation between EL and EWB. Also, there is a strong mediation of EE on the relationship between EE and EWB. The theory builds upon and suggests a strong mediating relationship between EL and EWB when EE acts as a mediator. The finding also suggests that the employees can be engaged in an organization to improve performance through EL.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
