Temperature is the focus of many studies around the world due to several factors, such as population growth and land use and coverage changes, as these elements contribute to the increase/decrease of air temperature on the surface of a region. This study aimed to analyze the temperature trend in the metropolises of the Brazilian Amazon (Belém and Manaus), from 1978 to 2018, for the dry and rainy regimes, taking into account population growth and the change in land use and coverage of referred cities. For this purpose, monthly data of maximum, compensated and minimum temperature in a radius of 25 km from the coordinates of the meteorological stations of each city were used, extracted from the National Institute of Meteorology, usage data and coverage of the Annual Soil Coverage and Use Mapping Project in Brazil and population data of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics. The results showed a positive trend in the temperature of these regions studied, due to the increase in urban infrastructure and population growth, as well as a decrease in forest formation in the metropolises of the Brazilian Amazon.
Rainfall erosivity is one crucial factor that controls soil erosion. The interannual variability of rainfall erosivity in Brazilian Amazonia connected to the El Niño-Southern Oscillation. This paper presents a study of the effects of Sea Surface Temperatures anomalies for El Niño region on rainfall erosivity in the Brazilian Amazonia. Rainfall erosivity across was assessed using 30 minutes rainfall data from Climate Prediction Center MORPHing technique during the period from 1998 to 2019. Results indicated that average rainfall erosivity is stronger during La Niña events and weaker during El Niño events. The annual value of rainfall erosivity ranged from 8241 to 24310 (Mj mm ha−1 h−1 year−1). Results also indicated that the effects of extending northward over Brazilian Amazonia showed a significant correlation (P <0.05) between annual rainfall erosivity and annual precipitation. The El Niño-Southern Oscillation conditions was determined to exert the most substantial influence on rainfall erosivity. This information would be useful in the implementation of new soil conservation strategies.
Anthropic Amendments in the Use of the Earth and its Impact at the Air Temperature in the Northern Pará A B S T R A C TThe forests have a direct influence on the climate, causing changes in temperature and humidity, i.e. changes in surface coverage can have a significant impact on the climate, increasing climate change. In the Amazon has been observed an increase in temperature could have relationship with the degree of deforestation associated to other climatic phenomena. The aim of this paper is to examine this theory, in the southwestern region of Pará, more specifically between Altamira and Porto de Moz. It is known that in these two municipalities there was no natural environmental preservation, so for comparison was made an analysis of the same weather variables, in a region of the Caxiuanã national forest preservation. Data were of average temperature (° C) and relative humidity (%) for these regions, deforestation PRODES project data, image processing for areas without native vegetation cover in the study region and geoprocessing of images for usage analysis of the Earth. Identified an increase in average temperature in the three study regions, however, in the region preserved, this increase was less intense, compared at regions of human interference. Over the years there is an increase in temperature, even in areas with conservation on vegetation characteristics, which may be due to synoptic scale and global factors, however, in regions with high rates of deforestation, grazing land and urbanization, the increase was much more significant. Keywords: deforestation; land use; eastern Amazon.
