The Istra Pushed Area is a specifically deformed territory of the northwestern part of the External Dinarides. It formed due to the movement of the Istra block as part of the Adriatic Microplate (Adria) towards the Dinarides since the middle Miocene. The movement of the Istra block caused hereditary shifts along the old dislocations dating back to the early formation stage of the formation of the Dinarides at the end of the Eocene and their deformation. These deformations are reflected also in certain extreme gravitational phenomena along the boundary between the External Dinaric Imbricated Belt and the External Dinaric Thrust Belt, where Mesozoic carbonates are thrusted upon the Cenozoic flysch. The boundary zone between these two belts connects the Trnovo, Hrušica and Snežnik Thrust Fronts. Four specific gravitational phenomena that occurred in this boundary zone are presented here, as they are remarkable in terms of their size: Črna griža (Trnovo Nappe), Suhi vrh (Hrušica Nappe), Petelinje mlake and Ilirska Bistrica (both from the Snežnik Nappe). The phenomena at Suhi vrh is described in detail herein.
According to the elan study and a substantial body of previous research, a significant amount of business is being lost in the eu due to a lack of language skills. In our article, we analyse how Austrian and Slovenian small and medium-sized enterprises (smes) adopt language management strategies (lmss). We investigate, by means of a questionnaire sent to Slovenian and Austrian smes, how aware they are of the elan findings, what language strategies they have adopted and whether the knowledge of English is sufficient for their successful business operations on global markets. The findings show that Slovenian exporting smes are not completely aware of the benefits a language management strategy could bring to their business operations on foreign markets. In contrast, Austrian exporting smes are more likely to provide language training for their staff, employ native speakers, and use local agents for their language needs considerably more often, as well as use the services of professional translators and interpreters almost three times more often.
Posamezniki in organizacije z jezikovnim znanjem so (lahko) uspešnejši, saj tovrstno znanje predstavlja konkurenčno prednost v števil-nih človekovih zasebnih in podjetniških dejavnostih.Ana Ravnak Majcen v sestavku Jezikovne in kulturne prepreke v slovenskih malih in srednje velikih podjetjih piše o pomenu znanja jezikov in poznavanju kulture, običajev, navad in poslovnega bontona za MSP. Poznavanje tujih jezikov in razumevanje tuje kulture podjetjem odpira vrata v sv...
