<strong>English</strong><br />Pati includes the prospective regencies for accelerating the growth rate and area diversification of shallot production in Central Java. However, the shallot production and productivity in Pati were unstable with a decreasing trend in recent years. The objective of this study is to evaluate the status and determinants of the shallot production efficiency using the Cobb-Douglas stochastic frontier production function. The research was conducted in three production centers sub-districts, Wedarijaksa, Batangan, and Jaken, in October 2017. The primary data were collected by interviewing 33 respondents which were selected through the stratified sampling technique. The results indicated that shallot farmers were efficient technically, but not economically and allocatively. Two significant determinants of the technical efficiency were the length of farming experience (positively related) and farmers’ age (negatively related). The farmers group membership and access to extension services were not significant, but both have positive effects on technical efficiency. Production efficiency may be increased through inputs use optimization that include reducing of anorganic fertilizer, increasing the quantity of organic fertilizer and seed, using of the true shallot seed and implementation of Integrated Pest Management. Improving the functions of agriculture extentions and farmers’ groups should also enhance shallot farming efficiency.<br /><br /><br /><strong>Indonesian</strong><br />Kabupaten Pati termasuk kabupaten di Jawa Tengah yang dipandang prospektif untuk percepatan peningkatan dan diversifikasi wilayah produksi bawang merah.
The Internet is considered to be an important factor in accelerating economic growth. There is a statistic regarding the inline of higher economic growth with higher Internet access. However, the impact of the Internet on agriculture as a real sector regarding its contribution on economic growth has not been explored in detail. The purpose of this study is to analyze the global effect of the Internet on agricultural sector performance. Static panel regression was used in this study by involving 126 countries using data from World Bank Open Data (2012–2019). Extended analysis was employed by applying the regression into two classifications, namely, countries by continent and the country composition of World Economic Outlook (WEO) groups. The result of this study shows that there exists a positive and significant global effect from Internet users, fixed broadband subscriptions, and secure Internet servers on agricultural sector performance. Additionally, the positive effect of Internet variables on agriculture was only found in Africa, Asia, and Oceania. In the country composition of WEO groups, there existed a positive and significant effect of Internet users and fixed broadband subscriptions on agricultural sector performance in economies classified as emerging and developing. This implies that the role of the Internet on agriculture is relatively higher in developing countries. Therefore, policymakers in Africa, Asia, Oceania, and emerging and developing economies (WEO Groups) must consider the role of Internet to improve agricultural sectors.
Abstract. This cross sectional study aimed to analyse influence of attitude, subjective norm, demography, sosioeconomic and shariah and conventional financial literacy toward entrepreneurship intention among college students. Refers to the model of Theory of Reasoned Action developed by Fishbein dan Ajzen, behavioral intentions are a function of attitude toward behavior and the subjective norm (Sumarwan 2011). Respondents were 100 college students selected by convenience sampling methods. Data collection was purposively conducted at public universities located in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Tangerang on February 2016 until August 2016. Interview was conducted using reliable and valid questionnaire as a tool. Descriptive analysis on attitude toward entrepreneurship showed that respondents strongly agreed with the attitude statement and subjective norm indicates that they disagree with recommendation from nearest person to start a business. In addition, analysis of the entrepreneurship intention showed that respondents have an interest to become entrepreneur. Regression analysis with dummy variable showed that entrepreneurship intention was significantly affected by variables of attitude toward entrepreneurship and conventional financial literacy (p value <0.05), gender (women tend to be more interested in entrepreneurship as compared to men), experience of taking entrepreneurship class and experience of being entrepreneur (p value <0.10). To increase student's entrepreneurship intention, it needs efforts from various parties, especially from academics to build attitude toward entrepreneurship and to increase financial literacy among students. Keywords: attitude, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, intention, subjective norm.
Indonesia has been still experiencing regional economic disparity problems, including in labour productivity. This study employs dynamic panel approach to analyze convergence and to identify determinants of regional labour productivity during the period of 1987-2011. The System Generalized Method of Moments (Sys-GMM) estimation results show that regional convergence process occurs with speed of convergence of 0.06518 per year. Physical capital stock, human capital stock, total trade, and real wage give positive impacts. Therefore, government should prioritize in overcoming labour productivity disparity in Eastern Indonesia in which are more unequal than in Western Indonesia where interventions should be greater for provinces with lower labour productivity. Keywords: Disparity, Convergence, Labour Productivity, Dynamic Panel AbstrakIndonesia masih mengalami masalah terkait dengan disparitas perekonomian regional, termasuk dalam hal produktivitas tenaga kerja.
