The publications on inclusive education in higher education has been tenuous, demonstrating that there is still much to advance in this issue. We conclude that the issue of inclusive education is more studied in relation to children; and that the attention of scholars regarding adults with special needs involves mostly health care and not inclusive education in higher education. PALAVRAS-CHAVE:
Information on the content of medicinal plants used in the treatment of diabetes is scarce in the literature. The objectives of this study were to determine the levels of macroelements and microelements in three different medicinal plant species including the dry samples and teas from Bauhinia forficata, Eleusine Indica, and Orthosiphon stamineus and assess the human health risks of ingestion of the tea. The content of the dry samples and teas was obtained using the technique of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES) after microwave digestion procedure. The hazard quotient (HQ) method was used to access the human health risks posed by heavy metal through tea consumption. The results revealed the presence of K, Mg, Na, P, Al, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, Ni, and Se in dry samples and plant teas. The dry plants have high concentration of K and P. All dry plants contain Mg, Na, Al, Fe, Mn, Ni, Zn, and Cu above the limit permissible level set by the World Health Organization (WHO). All the hazard index (HI) values in plant teas were found to be within safe limits for human consumption ( HI < 1 ). The plants may have possible action benefits when used in popular medicine. However, the ingestion through capsules prepared by enclosing a plant powder or teas can be harmful to the health of diabetics. The prescription of this plant for the treatment of diabetes should be treated with caution.
COVID-19 in 2020 brought challenges to the Brazilian public health system with an emerging virus with respiratory contagion called SARS-CoV-2. There are few studies in Brazil and in some countries, on the increased incidence of certain viral respiratory infections, including H1N1 and coronavirus and their association with low levels of vitamin D, zinc and iron. The aim of this study was to demonstrate that the deficit of vitamin D, zinc and iron has an impact on the infectious process of patients with COVID-19 and to establish new forms of prevention for the worsening of COVID-19 in the human body. Data were collected from medical records and test results from patients being followed up during the treatment period for COVID-19. Patients with low blood levels of vitamin D, zinc and iron during the treatment period of COVID-19 had a higher percentage of worsening and complications requiring hospitalization in intensive care beds. The ingestion of vitamin D, zinc and iron in the treatment period of patients with COVID-19 in addition to being an immunological protector against SARS-CoV-2 and alleviating the process of worsening the disease can also act as a biomarker in cases of this disease.

Introduction: Bauhinia forficata, has presented in several interesting effects for the diabetic human organism as the adjuvant treatment. Its effects have been tested and proven in scientific studies in the Unified Health System in Brazil. Aims: Verify the effects of the medicinal plant Bauhinia forficata as an aid in the control of glycemic indexes. Methodology: Case report with exploratory descriptive study with a quantitative approach, using direct observation techniques of the Dáder method adapted to the use of herbal medicines such as Bauhinia forficata. Results: In this study, there was a decrease in triglyceride levels with a drop of 77%, which despite not reaching the recommended values for diabetic patients (<150 mg/dl) is quite significant. Conclusion: Bauhinia forficata used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus has anti-inflammatory actions that contribute to reduce glycated hemoglobin and, thus decrease fasting and postprandial glucose.
Vaccination is one of the most effective and most controlled interventions in the occurrence of infectious diseases, and it is essential to analyze vaccination coverage and homogeneity between municipalities. The National Immunization Program (PNI), together with the Epidemiological Surveillance System in Brazil, seek to generate an impact on the control, elimination and even eradication of preventable diseases, immunizing the general population, especially children. This study aims to analyze vaccination coverage and homogeneity in the Midwest of Brazil and to relate to the incidence of immunopreventable diseases in children under five years of age. This is an ecological study, based on data from the Information System of the National Immunization Program (SI-PNI), for the period 2018-2022, analyzing the indicators of vaccination coverage, homogeneity and the incidence of immunopreventable diseases in children under five years of age.
