O estudo tem por objetivo verificar a relação entre os desempenhos esportivo e financeiro dos clubes do futebol brasileiro que disputaram as Séries A ou B ao menos uma vez entre 2013 e 2016. Para medir o desempenho esportivo, foram selecionadas a pontuação dos clubes no Ranking Oficial de Clubes da CBF e a pontuação em um ranking elaborado pelos autores, que utilizou a mesma metodologia do Ranking da CBF, mas considerando apenas o desempenho no ano corrente. Já para o desempenho financeiro, foram utilizados os indicadores: Receita Operacional Bruta, Despesa com Salários, EBIT e Endividamento. Analisou-se a estatística descritiva e de regressão com dados em painel, controlando os efeitos fixos. Os resultados indicaram uma relação positiva e significante de receita bruta, despesa com salários e endividamento com o desempenho esportivo dos clubes. O EBIT e a dummy ano eleitoral não foram significantes, não apresentando relação com o resultado esportivo dos clubes.
Objetivo do estudo: analisar a influência do desempenho esportivo e da adesão ao Profut no nível de endividamento dos clubes de futebol brasileiros.Metodologia: foram analisados 23 clubes entre o período de 2013 a 2017, por meio de regressão linear com dados em painel, controlando os efeitos fixos.Originalidade/Relevância: há escassez de estudos que analisam a estrutura de capitais dos clubes de futebol, principalmente ao levar em consideração as mudanças contábeis trazidas pela ITG 2003 (2013) e pela Lei 13.155/2015 (PROFUT).Principais resultados: O desempenho esportivo apresentou resultado significativo e positivo, assim como o PROFUT, no nível de endividamento dos clubes, indicando que aqueles com melhores performance esportiva e que aderiram ao PROFUT tendem a ter maior participação de capitais de terceiros em sua estrutura de capital. Os resultados obtidos permitem a conclusão de que o Profut pode não estar sendo eficiente e cumprindo o seu propósito de aumentar o equilíbrio financeiro dos clubes. Diante disso, se faz necessária a avaliação do programa e, principalmente, dos mecanismos de monitoramento e regulação.Contribuições teóricas/metodológicas: ampliar a literatura sobre estrutura de capitais dos clubes de futebol e seus determinantes e análise da adesão ao PROFUT no endividamento das equipes brasileiras.Contribuições sociais/para a gestão: resultados encontrados neste trabalho são relevantes para a gestão dos clubes de futebol, que sofreram historicamente com problemas administrativos e que buscam melhorias na sua gestão e para a avaliação da eficiência do PROFUT.
Objetivo: Verificar de que forma os accruals calculados pela abordagem do balanço patrimonial e da demonstração dos fluxos de caixa são similares. Método: A pesquisa foi realizada com 348 empresas não financeiras listadas na B3 no período de 2011 a 2020, perfazendo um total de 2.786 observações. Em um primeiro momento, aplicou-se o teste não paramétrico de diferença de médias, a fim de observar a existência de diferenças significativas entre o cálculo dos accruals em ambas as abordagens e, em seguida, foram testadas as duas abordagens em um modelo de predição de fluxos de caixa, visando identificar qual das duas formas de medição era mais adequada. Resultados: Os resultados apontaram uma diferença entre as duas abordagens, indicando que não são estatisticamente semelhantes. Na aplicação no modelo de predição de fluxos de caixa, a abordagem de accruals calculados pela demonstração dos fluxos de caixa se mostrou mais adequada que a abordagem pelo balanço patrimonial. Contribuições: Este trabalho contribui para a academia ao apontar que os accruals calculados pela abordagem do balanço patrimonial e da demonstração dos fluxos de caixa não são similares, sugerindo aos pesquisadores a necessidade de utilizar as duas formas de cálculo nas pesquisas acadêmicas.
