Wir oxydierten 5 g 2-Methyl-anthracen-I-carbonsaure-phenylester in 150 ccm Eisessig nach Zugeben von j g geschiiiolzenem Kaliumacetat rnit 3.2 g CrO,, in 200 ccm Eisessig wie beiin Athylester angegeben (s. 0.). Der in gi?ter Ausbeute entstandene Methyl-anthrachinon-carbonsaure-phenylester war durch einen l e b h a f t g e l b e n , hartnackig anhaftenden Korper verunreinigt, von dem wir ilin durch ofteres Umkrystallisieren abwechselnd aus Benzol, Essigester und Alkohol befreit haben. Er bildete dann blal3gelbe Nadeln. Schmp. und Misch-Schmp. niit dem Ester von S c h o l l und R e nnerl*) lagen bei 218--219~. Der Ester rerandert seine Farbe beim Schmelzen nicht. 198. Eine recht wichtige Rolle bei Ubergangen von Einzelgliedern der Terpcn-Reihe ineinander, und zwar sowohl im offenen wie im cyclischen Gebiet, spielt bekanntlich der E r s a t z d e r A m i n o -G r u p p e d u r c h H y d r o x y l bzw. H a l o g e n : er ermoglichtum uur einige Beispiele herauszugreifeneine Carbonsaure X.CO,H iiber das ihr entsprechende Nitril X.CN und dessen Reduktionsprodukt X . CH,. NH, mit eineni Alkohol X . CH, .OH bzw. Chlorid X . CH,. C1 genetisch zu verknupfen; er gestattet, dank der Moglichkeit, Oxime cyclischer Ketone zu Nitrilen offener Sauren aufzuspalten, die Briicke von einem cpclischen Keton S > C:O uber ein offenes Nitril Y'. CN und ein Amin X' . CH, . NH, zu einem offenen Alkohol X' . CH,. OHbzm. Aldehyd X'.CHO zu schlagen; er erlaubt, die Verbindung zwischen einem ungesattigten Kohlenwasserstoff, iiber dessen NOC1-Anlagerungsprodukt und die daraus durch HC1-Wegnahme und Reduktion der Nitrosogruppe entstehende Base rnit einein ihr entsprechenden Alkohol herzustellen.Der gewohnliche Weg, den man beim Erfatz einer XI<,-Gruppe durch OH einzuschlagen pflegt, die Behandlung einer primaren Base rnit salpetriger Same, ist bekanntlich recht unzuverlassig : die Reaktion ist unter Umstanden mit intramolekularen Umlagerungen verbunden, die Struktur und selbstverstandlich der raumliche Baudes Reaktionsproduktes ist oft unsicher, an Stelle eines einheitlichen Stoffes resultiert nicht selten ein Gemisch. Zuverlassig in s t r uk t u r ell e r Beziehung ist dagegeu, wie zahlreiche, in vergangenen Jahren von dein einen von uns ausgefiibrte Versuche gezeigt haben, die B e h a n d l u n g d e r B e n z o y l v e r b i n d u n g e i n e r p r i m a r e n Base X.NH.CO.C,H, rnit PC1, (bzw. PBr,), die zu einem Gemisch von B e nz on i t r i l , C,H, . CN, und leicht in einen Alkohol X . OH verwandelbarem Chlorid X.C1 (bzw. Bromid X.Br) fiihrt.
