Os entraves dispostos pelo racismo atravessam negativamente a população negra em diversos âmbitos e sentidos. São heranças históricas que se apresentam de forma clara ou velada até os dias atuais e, quando relacionados à velhice, os tópicos que compõem o racismo se amplificam e tomam novas facetas. Conceitos psicossociais são influenciados diretamente pela perpetuação do modelo hierárquico de raças, influindo diretamente nos elementos socioeconômicos, iniquidades em saúde, demandas familiares, violência, entre outras formas desfavoráveis de experiências da população negra, desde o nascimento até a velhice. Dessa forma, a prática psicológica pautada num fazer ético-político se faz necessária, enquanto oposição a tais práticas racistas ainda contemporâneas – marcando-se como propósito deste estudo ratificar essa recomendação; assim, tal prática psicológica mostra sua relevância enquanto práxis científico-metodológica na ruptura com um passado que ainda se faz presente.
Em comparação com indivíduos cisgêneros, pessoas transgêneros apresentam altos indicadores de suicídio. Nesse sentido, o presente estudo teve como escopo analisar os fatores protetivos e de riscos imbricados no tocante ao fenômeno do suicídio. Com base em uma revisão de escopo da literatura, levantaram-se dados publicados nos últimos cinco anos, nas seguintes bases de dados: Medline, Lilacs e PubMed. Os descritores utilizados foram: transgender persons e suicide. Dos 360 estudos encontrados, 22 atenderam aos critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Os resultados evidenciaram que o suicídio entre a população trans relaciona-se a estressores sociais ligados à discriminação, preconceito, pouca aceitação familiar, escassas oportunidades de trabalho, sendo os principais fatores explicativos. Assim como, denota-se que depressão e abuso de substâncias possuem correlação com o comportamento suicida e o suicídio. Dessa forma, sugere-se a realização de pesquisas nacionais e internacionais, com foco em políticas públicas que proporcionem melhor qualidade de vida às pessoas trans.
A presente pesquisa objetivou identificar as representações sociais entre pessoas espíritas. A amostra foi composta por 47 pessoas dos estados brasileiros de ambos os sexos, maioria mulheres 74,4%, como idade mínima de 18 anos e máxima de 69 anos, com média de 39,7 anos (DP = 8,7). Para a coleta de dados, utilizou-se um questionário so-ciodemográfico e uma pergunta: Como você entende a velhice LGBT? Posteriormente, foram submetidas a uma análise, no software Iramuteq, pelo método da Classificação Hierárquica Descendente que originou quatro classes de aproximação semântica. Os dados sociodemográficos foram analisados pelo software SPSS. Quanto ao conteúdo das classes, são abordadas representações sociais relacionadas a dificuldade de ser idoso LGBT diante dos preconceitos, estereótipos e pouca aceitação familiar. Por outro lado, houveram representações sociais relacionadas a coragem de assumir a orientação sexual em um contexto social heteronormativo. Como também, Identifica-se o pouco conhecimento da velhice LGBT. Nesse sentido, são imprescindíveis estudos, visto que os idosos LGBT são praticamente invisíveis na sociedade.
O presente artigo objetivou analisar as representações sociais de homens gays brasileiros sobre a velhice LGBT, com base na Teoria das Representações Sociais. Foi utilizada uma entrevista semiestruturada realizada com homens gays residentes de todo o Brasil. Utilizou-se a Classificação Hierárquica Descendente (CHD) e a Análise Prototípica para a análise das representações apreendidas. Os resultados obtidos demonstram o enraizamento das representações em aspectos negativos da velhice e a negação da sexualidade nessa fase da vida, onde estes reforçam o preconceito e corroboram com a dupla discriminação vivenciada por idosos LGBTs.
