This study aims to reveal the author’s social group world view in Andrea Hirata’s novel Laskar Pelangi. It employed the genetic structuralism theory approach. The data were analyzed using a dialectic model through recursive, simultaneous, and iterative understanding of the literary text structure (out of society). The findings show that the cultural issues presented in LaskarPelangi deal with the harmony of the life of the Belitung society consisting of several ethnic groups. The author’s world view is relatedto the importance of social convergence emphasizing a mutual respect attitude towards each ethnic group. Besides, there needs to be an understanding of a local genius value in developing a life norm in a society and a nation.
This study aims to (1) describe the application of Kahoot in learning Indonesian, (2) describing student responses based on the reflection rubric on the application of Kahoot in learning Indonesian. The method used is a combination method with a descriptive research type through a qualitative approach. The results of the research show that the application of Kahoot In learning Indonesian, it is carried out through three stages of activity, namely the initial, core and final activities of learning. Student responses based on the reflection rubric on the application of Kahoot in learning Indonesian in the Agree and Strongly Agree categories, said that the appearance was attractive, easy to use, learning became easy to understand, and there was an increase in students’ motivation and interest in learning.
ABSTRAKKehadiran karya sastra menjadi berarti dan bernilai, jika ditempuh melalui pengayaan keberagaman tanggapan dan keberterimaan pembaca. Penerimaan dan tanggapan pembaca terhadap karya sastra dapat ditinjau melalui beberapa aspek, salah satunya melalui aspek emosional. Pemahaman terhadap aspek emosional tersebut berperan penting dalam menakar respon pembaca terhadap sebuah karya sastra. Sehubungan dengan hal itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan fokus masalah dititikberatkan pada respons emosional pembaca terhadap novel Surga yang Dirindukan 2 karya Asma Nadia. Metode deskriptif analisis digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan mengandalkan data berupa tanggapan responden terhadap novel, yang hanya ditinjau berdasarkan aspek emosionalnya saja. Sumber data penelitian adalah 15 orang responden yang telah dikategorikan sebagai laki-laki dan perempuan serta dikategorikan sebagai sarjana dan mahasiswa. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui angket yang berisi beberapa pernyataan yang terkait dengan respons emosional pembaca. Penganalisisan data meliputi: (1) pembacaan dan pemahaman secara retroaktif, (2) identifikasi; (3) klasifikasi; (4) analisis dan interpretasi; (5) verifikasi dan penyimpulan hasil analisis sementara respons emosional pembaca terhadap novel Surga yang Dirindukan 2 karya Asma Nadia. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan respons emosional pembaca pada setiap kategori baik laki-laki dan perempuan, maupun kategori sarjana dan mahasiswa. Respons pembaca ditinjau dari aspek emosional ditemukan bahwa, perbedaan tanggapan yang paling dominan terlihat pada unsur kemampuan untuk percaya, keterlibatan, dan suka cita. Pada ketiga unsur lainnya tidak memiliki variasi tanggapan yang berbeda secara signifikan.Kata-kata kunci: novel Surga yang Dirindukan 2, resepsi sastra, respons, emosional, pembaca ABSTRACTThe presence of literary works becomes meaningful and valuable, if pursued through the enrichment of the diversity of responses and acceptance of the reader. The acceptance and response of readers to the literary works can be reviewed through several aspects, one of them through the emotional aspect. Understanding of these emotional aspects plays an important role in measuring the reader's response to a literary work. In this regard, this research is conducted with a focus of the problem focused on the reader's emotional response to the novel of Heaven Desired 2 by Asma Nadia. Descriptive method of analysis used in this study by relying on the data in the form of responses of respondents to the novel, which only reviewed based on emotional aspects only. Sources of research data are 15 respondents who have been categorized as male and female and categorized as scholars and students. The research data is obtained through a questionnaire containing several statements related to the reader's emotional response. Data analysis includes: (1) retroactive reading and understanding, (2) identification; (3) classification; (4) analysis and interpretation; (5) the verification and inference of the results of the analysis while the reader's emotional response to the novel of Heaven Desired 2 by Asma Nadia. The results of research and discussion show the difference of emotional responses of the reader in each category of both men and women, as well as undergraduate and student categories. The reader's response in terms of the emotional aspects is found that the most dominant response difference is seen in the element of ability to believe, engagement, and joy. Perbedaan antara laki-laki dan perempuan yang digambarkan di dalam karya sastra selalu menimbulkan beragam peristiwa sosial, termasuk persoalan ketimpangan gender.Peran perempuan dianggap hanya cocok berada di ranah domestik.Namun, secara feminisme profetik peran tersebut tidak dipersoalkan, karena perempuan meskipun berperan di dalam rumah tangga tetap bermanfaat dan memiliki nilai kebaikan.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai feminsime profetik dalam novel Kota Kaum Cadar karya Zoe Ferraris.Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik pembacaan dan pencatatan.Data penelitian ini adalah nilai feminisme profetik dalam novel Kota Kaum Cadar karya Zoe Ferrraris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan dan laki-laki memiliki kesempatan yang sama dalam melakukan kebaikan baik di ranah domestik maupun publik. Di dalam novel Kota Kaum Cadar karya Zoe Ferraris peran perempuan diposisikan sejajar dengan laki-laki dalam konteks berbuat kebaikan guna memeroleh remunerasi pahala dari Tuhan.Secara feminisme profetik melalui deskripsi peran tokoh perempuan dalam novel ini ditemukan pula nilai-nilai berupa; nilai humanis(amar ma’ruf), nilai liberasi (nahi munkar), nilai transedensi(tu’mina billah). Ketiga nilai tersebut saling berkaitanerat dengan nilai-nilai kebaikandalam kehidupan keluarga dan masyarakat.Kata kunci: nilai, feminisme profetik, ketimpangan genderPROPHETIC FEMINISM VALUES IN THE NOVEL KOTA KAUM CADARBY JOE FERRARISAbstract.The differences between men and women always lead to social differences and status, including gender inequality. Women are still placed and considered inferior to men and tend to have a lower status. Based on prophetic feminism, the role of women as domestic servants is not a problem, because women still have values of benefits eventhough they just stay at home. The aim of this study is to describe prophetic feminism value in the novel Kota Kaum Cadar by Zoe Ferraris. The research was conducted by using a qualitative descriptive method and the data were collected through reading and documentation techniques. The primary data in this research was prophetic feminism value in Kota Kaum Cadar novel by Zoe Ferraris. The results of the study showed that men and women have the same opportunities in exposing positive activities in local or public areas in order to get God’s rewards. The other prophetic feminist values that were found through the description of women’s character in this novel are humanization values (amar ma’ruf), liberation value (nahi munkar) and transcendence value (tu’mina billah).Keywords: values, prophetic feminism, gender inequality
Teaching Gorontalo language is one of the Gorontalo government efforts to maintain Gorontalo culture. It has been being taught in elementary schools for years and continuously becomes the government concern. In the previous research (Husain, Bay and Mamu, 2017), the result of questionnaire generally indicated that the textbook used in teaching Gorontalo language was not colorful and attractive and the content was too monotonous. Additionally, certain teachers did not even use any textbook to teach and just tried to browse material on the internet. This research intends to create a textbook that will be used for teaching Gorontalo language in elementary schools based on the syllabus produced in the first year of research. Syllabus and textbook are created by adapting English for Young Learners (EYL) learning strategy. The content focuses on traditional musical instruments, traditional songs, traditional games and traditional dances and is introduced simply and nicely to the students as in EYL learning strategy. The students will have two benefits; they can learn Gorontalo language and its cultures at the same time. The research applies the Research and Development Method (Sugiyono, 2014, p. 297) to create the textbook of Gorontalo language with five main steps namely (1) creating the textbook; (2) validating the textbook; (3) textbook trial in elementary school; (4) Evaluating the textbook; (5) producing the textbook. Textbook as the research output is expected to provide a new sight of Gorontalo language learning for both teachers and students by adjusting EYL learning strategy to sustain Gorontalo culture.
