Among these behaviors, word-of-mouth has a great importance in the relationship between company and consumer. This paper proposes, through an essay, to identify personality variables that may influence the formation of the word-of-mouth. Thus, this article presents the importance of the relationship of psychological constructs with constructs traditionally studied in consumer behavior. It is expected that with the understanding of the possible relationships between theories and constructs, further studies are made in order to empirically identify the occurrence of the relationship between the constructs. This study using theory of personality traits, the control theory and evolutionary principles of psychology, proposes a hierarchical model of personality to identify the relationships between most abstract constructs of personality and intentions of word-of-mouth. With these proposals, it is encourage the emergence of new studies for the relationship between personality dimensions and word-of-mouth. The contributions of the paper are on the construction and the proposition of a conceptual model that combines theories of personality and intentions of word-of-mouth, as consumer behavior. Keywords: Personality.
