O artigo discute o conceito de Digital e a constituição do campo das Humanidades Digitais, destacando alguns problemas específicos inerentes à Sociologia, Antropologia e Historiografia. O artigo explicita a polêmica em torno do conceito de digital e pontua algumas questões metodológicas relevantes para a construção da objetividade científica no uso dos métodos digitais no campo da Historiografia e das Humanidades Digitais. ResumoO presente trabalho foi originado a partir das reflexões suscitadas por uma pesquisa de pós-doutorado que investiga como os history games podem contribuir para a produção e o compartilhamento de representações, de imagens e de um imaginário sobre o passado. Entendemos por history games os jogos eletrônicos digitais que possuem, em sua estrutura, narrativas ou simulações de elementos históricos (Neves, 2010). A noção de termo "obras fronteiriças", é utilizada por Glezer e Albieri (2009) para discutir o papel de trabalhos literários e artísticos que, situando-se fora do campo historiográfico e possuindo um caráter ficcional constituem-se em formas de difusão do conhecimento histórico e de aproximação com o passado. Pretendemos demonstrar como, sob o impacto do giro linguístico, as fronteiras entre história e ficção foram esmaecidas. Em autores como White (1995) e Veyne (2008) encontramos, tanto uma convergên-cia ou identidade entre a narrativa histórica e a literária, como um questionamento ao estatuto epistemológico da História como ciência. Os desdobramentos dessas críticas implicaram em uma valorização das obras ficcionais tanto para o conhecimento, como para a divulgação do conhecimento histórico sobre o passado. Em seguida, examinaremos os elementos das narrativas audiovisuais dos jogos eletrônicos (Calleja, 2013;Frasca, 1999; Jull, 2001; Murray, 2003;Zagalo, 2009), buscando compreender a sua especificidade. A seguir, investigaremos o lugar das narrativas e simulações históricas dos jogos eletrônicos na cultura contemporânea (Fogu, 2009). Por fim, discutiremos como os conhecimentos históricos são apropriados e representados através dos history games (Arruda, 2009;Kusiak, 2002) e analisaremos o seu impacto na produção de uma consciência histórica ou de um imaginário sobre o passado. Palavras-chaveHistória; narrativa; jogos eletrônicos IntroduçãoAs reflexões apresentadas neste artigo foram originadas pela pesquisa de pós-doutorado que desenvolvo junto ao Grupo de Pesquisa Comunidades Virtuais, vinculado ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação e Contemporaneidade da Universidade do Estado da Bahia (Uneb), sob a supervisão da Professora Lynn Alves. O projeto conta com financiamento da CAPES/FAPESB e, de modo geral, tem por objetivo discutir a relação entre História, Memória Social e Jogos Eletrônicos.Na trajetória do Grupo Comunidades Virtuais, a reflexão sobre o tema das relações entre história e jogos eletrônicos ocupa um lugar importante, uma vez que trata-se de um grupo de pesquisa que, não apenas se propõe a estudar o fenômeno dos jogos eletrônicos, mas também investe em sua produção, a exemplo dos jogos Tríade (2008) e Búzios (2010) que foram desenvolvidos com objetivo de suscitar a aprendizagem de conteúdos de História, como a Revolução Francesa e a Revolta dos Alfaiates.
Este trabalho discute alguns resultados de uma pesquisa cujo objetivo era investigar se experiência lúdica dos jogos eletrônicos pode atuar como um suporte para memória coletiva e para produção e no compartilhamento de representações, de imagens e de um imaginário sobre o passado. Trata-se também de uma discussão sobre memória coletiva, multimodalidade e jogos eletrônicos, centrada na análise do jogo Assassin’s Creed II. Os dados foram coletados com o recurso à um micro etnografia do game play. Ao longo do texto, demonstro como estudos sobre jogos como Call of Duty , Medal of Honor sugerem que alguns videogames podem assumir inúmeras funções mnemônicas como como simulação, celebração, narrativa, produção de monumentos, vivência do luto, rememoração e patrimonialização. Os recursos multimodais presentes em jogos eletrônicos como Assassin’s Creed II podem ampliar as possibilidades de compartilhamento da memória coletiva.
