ABSTRAKUpaya untuk meningkatkan derajat kesehatan masyarakat menjadi hal yang sangat penting untuk mencapai taraf hidup yang lebih baik. Salah satu strategi untuk mencapai derajat kesehatan masyarakat adalah dengan memberikan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat untuk menerapkan pola hidup bersih yang dimulai dari tingkat keluarga atau rumah tangga, lingkungan sekolah dan masyarakat luas. Program pengabdian masyarakat yang diinisiasi oleh Majelis Kesehatan Umum dan Pelayanan Sosial Pimpinan Wilayah Muhammadiyah Maluku Utara ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat untuk memiliki kesadaran tinggi dan potensi diri untuk menjaga kesehatan melalui pengenalan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS). Metode pelaksanaan adalah dengan (1) penyuluhan tentang praktek PHBS di tingkat rumah tangga, (2) penyuluhan tentang PHBS di tingkat institusi pendidikan, (3) praktek cuci tangan yang benar pada murid sekolah, dan (4) pemberdayaan masyarakat dengan kegiatan menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Kegiatan ini melibatkan seluruh masyarakat desa Posi-posi berjumlah 84 rumah tangga dan 60 murid SD Inpres Posi-posi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan ada peningkatan pengetahuan rumah tangga dan murid SD tentang PHBS dan seluruh murid telah mampu untuk mencuci tangan dengan benar. ABSTRACTTo achieve a better standard of living, it need an effort to promote public health. One strategy to achieve the level of public health is to provide an understanding and awareness of the community to implement a clean lifestyle that begin at the family level, the environment, and society at large. The community service program initiated by the General Health and Social Services Council of Muhammadiyah North Maluku Regional Leadership was aimed to increase the knowledge and understanding of the community to have high awareness and potential to maintain health through the introduction of Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS). The method of implementations was to (1) the counseling of the practice of PHBS at the household level, (2) counseling of PHBS in the level of educational institutions, (3) practice proper hand washing at students, and (4) community empowerment to maintain environmental hygiene. This activities involved the whole community of Posi-posi representing 84 households, and 60 students of SD Inpres Posi-posi. The results show that there was an increased knowledge of households and students about PHBS, and all students have been able to wash their hands properly. The program was also assisted by public health students so that they can practice their knowledge gained in college.
Background : Cervical cancer is one of the main problems in women's health in the world, including Indonesia. According to the 2018 Global Cancer Observatory from the World Health Organization (WHO), the most common cancer cases in Indonesia are breast cancer, which is 58,256 cases or 16.7% of the total 348,809 cancer cases. Cervical cancer (neck of the womb) is the second most common type of cancer in Indonesia, with 32,469 cases or 9.3% of the total cases. Objective: To determine the risk factors associated with early detection of cervical cancer using Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (IVA) ) in women of childbearing age in the Work Area of the Ternate City Health Center for Siko Treatment. Methods: This research is a quantitative analytic study with a cross sectional design. Data collection was carried out from December 2020 to January 2021. The population was all patients who underwent examinations at the Maternal and Child Health Polyclinic (KIA) at the Siko Care Health Center in Ternate City as many as 227 patients and a sample of 145 female patients of childbearing age from January to September 2020. Techniques sampling is simple random sampling. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate with chi-square test. The research variable consists of the dependent variable, namely early detection of cervical cancer, while the independent variables are knowledge, husband's support, access to information and culture. Results: Shows that age (46.9%), knowledge of VIA (50.3%), attitude (55.2%), husband's support (52.4%), access to information (62.1%), culture (51.7%), Support Officer (48.3%), early detection of cervical cancer IVA method (55.2%), while the bivariate results include: Age (0.000, OR=19,011; CI=8.095-44,647), knowledge (0.001; OR=2.86; CI=1.563-18.367), attitude (0.000; OR=215.524 CI=53,456-868.955), husband's support (0.002; OR=1.448 CI=1.688-11.933), access to information (0.000; OR=2,294; CI=1,574-15,976), culture (0,003; OR=2,202 CI=1,648-10,717), health worker support (0,000; OR=27,111 CI;11,023-66,680). Conclusion: There is a relationship between knowledge, husband's support, access to information and culture with early detection of cervical cancer against the IVA method. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that the relevant agencies, namely the Siko Health Center, always improve health education to the community, especially mothers and husbands regarding early detection of cervical cancer through various media tools including leaflets, posters, flipcharts and other media. Through this counseling, it is hoped that the community will be more interested and understand the material presented more quickly
Prevalensi nasional hipertensi berdasarkan Riskesdas 2018 sebesar 34,11%. Hipertensi menyebabkan komplikasi penyakit jantung, stroke, gangguan ginjal, dan meningkatkan angka kematian. Faktor risiko hipertensi antara lain: perilaku dan kebiasaan sehari-hari yang tidak sehat, aktivitas fisik yang kurang, kebiasaan merokok dan minum minuman yang mengandung alkohol. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian dan pemberdayaan masyarakat ini adalah (1) meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai faktor risiko hipertensi serta dampak merokok, (2) memberdayakan masyarakat dalam upaya mencegah hipertensi, dan (3) mengadvokasi masyarakat untuk berperan aktif menerapkan promosi kesehatan melalui Gerakan Masyarakat Hidup Sehat dan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat. Lokasi kegiatan di desa Akeguraci kecamatan Oba Tengah Kota Tidore Kepulauan. Hasil evaluasi diperoleh peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang faktor risiko hipertensi sebesar 60,5%; pengetahuan tentang bahaya merokok sebesar 62,8% dan pengetahuan tentang PHBS sebesar 59,3%. Masyarakat mampu berpartisipasi dan memberdayakan diri pada kegiatan promosi kesehatan untuk meningkatkan status kesehatan mereka
Penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) merupakan salah satu permasalahan bagi negara-negara yang beriklim tropis seperti di Indonesia. Melonjaknya angka kematian akibat penyakit ini setiap tahun menjadikan sebuah peristiwa luar biasa. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, tim Ibm UMMU berupaya melakukan kegiatan pengendalian DBD dengan melakukan sosialisasi DBD dan gerakan PSN (Pemberantasan Sarang Nyamuk) dengan 3M plus yaitu Menguras, Menutup dan Mengubur. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap resiko penyakit DBD serta kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pola hidup bersih. Metode pemberdayaan yang digunakan yaitu pemberian literasi dan praktek Pemberantasan Sarang Nyamuk. Program ini terbukti dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam pemberantasan sarang nyamuk yang menyebabkan penyakit DBD. Dengan adanya program ini, masyarakat kelurahan Tomajiko kecamatan Pulau Hiri diharapkan dapat selalu menjaga lingkungan agar tetap bersih untuk menghindari penyakit DBD. Hasil dari program ini diharapkan dapat ditiru oleh beberapa desa sekitar kepulauan Hiri yang memiliki karakteristik demografi yang sama.
