Nstronlauge in diese uber, enth8lt also ein freies Carbosyl.Durch die energischc alkalische Verseifung mircl in Anslogie zu Phiiophorbicl a-Oxim, wo wir die Decarboxyliernng bereits festpestellt haben, wahrscheinlich Pyro-Phiiophorhin 1)-Monoxim I1 g ebilde t .Ein zweimd aus Aceton umkrystallisiertes Praparat cles Phiiophorbid b-Monosims I1 wurde im I-Iochvakuum hei 30O zur Konstanz petrocknet. Der Gewichtsverlust hetrug 8 Proz., die getroeknete Substanz isk aber riicht hygroskopisch.
VOF kurzem2) konnten wir die erste Stutze fiir die Lage der Carboxylgruppe am Kohlenstoffatom 1 der Abietinsaure (Formel I) mitteilen. Es wurde gezeigt, dass der durch Wasserabspaltung aus Abietinol, dem Produkt der Bouvecdt'schen Reduktion des Abietinsame-es ters, en ts tehende Kohlenwassers tof f bei der Dehy drierung nicht, wie wir friiher annahmen, ein l,x-Dimethyl-7-isopropylphenanthren liefert, sondern das l-Athyl-7-isopropyl-phenanthren,Danach ware allerdings in erster Linie die Bindung der Carboxylg u p p e an der Methylgruppe gemass dem Schema I1 in Betracht gekommen. Gegen e k e solche Lage sprach aber sowohl das Prinzip der Aufteilbarkeit der Terpengeruste in Isoprenreste, dem Schema I1 nicht entspricht, wie auch die relativ schwierige Veresterung der -4bietinsaure mit alkoholischer Salzsaure sowie die langsam verlaufende Verseifung der Abietinsiiure-ester. Wenn es uns auch erlaubt zu sein scheint aus der Reaktionsfahigkeit zwischen prim a r e r und t e r t i a r e r Bindung des Carboxyls eine vorltiufige Entscheidung zu treffen, so war doch fur eine endgultige Festlegung eine sicherere Stiitze notig, die unabhangig sein musste von Uberlegungen, die mit dem Begriff der Reaktionsfahigkeit zusammenhangen. Dies war noch deshalb wiinschenswert, da man fur die Bildung der Athylderivate aus Abietinol (111) eine Umlagerung annehmen musste, und es ware danach prinzipiell vielleicht auch eine l) LXSVII. Mitt

X. 43.)I n fruheren Mitteilungen dieser Reihe haben wir uber die Sicherstellung der Br~ttoformel~) C30H4804 und uber die Dehydrier~ng~) der im Sumatra-benzoeharz vorkommenden Sumaresinolsaure berichtet. Winterstein und E g P ) hatten schon vorher in der Sumaresinolsaure, durch Bestimmung des aktiven Wasserstoff nach Zerewitinoff, die Anwesenheit von zwei Hydroxylgruppen festgestellt. Ferner konnten diese Autoren fur die mittels Tetranitromethan nachgewiesene Doppelbindung auf Grund der Herstellung eines Bromlactons die B,y oder y,d-Stellung zum Carboxyl ermitteln. Die Ester der Sumaresinolsaure sind nur ausserst schwer verseifbar, die Doppelbindung konnte bis jetzt nicht hydriert werden. Das trage Verhalten solcher funktioneller Gruppen ist von anderen Triterpensauren her bekannt und deutet hier auf analoge Verhaltnisse in der Molekel, wie bei der Oleanolsaure-Gruppe.Es sei vorweggenommen, dass die R e s u l t a t e dieser Arbeit z u r E i n r e i h u n g der Sumaresinolsaure i n die Oleanolsaure-G r u p p e f u h r e n ; sie gehort, wie Hederagenin, Siaresinolsaure und Echinocystsaure zu der Untergruppe der Oxy-oleanolsauren 7) (Dioxyoleanensauren). Noch nicht endgultig festgelegt ist nur die Lage des einen Hydroxyls der Sumaresinolsiiure, wofur aber nur die Stellungen 7 oder 8 (Ring B) in Frage kommen. I n der Formel Ia ist vorlaufig die Stellung 7 angenommen worden, ohne dass sich auf Grund bisher bekannt gewordener Umsetzungen Stellung 8 ausschliessen liesse.Die Bezeichnung x in den folgenden Formeln bedeutet also 7 oder 8.Durch die Isolierung des 1,5,6,-Trimethyl-2-oxy-naphthalins unter den Produkten der Dehydrierung der Sumaresinolsiiure mit Selen8) konnte fur die eine der Hydroxylgruppen die Lage am Kohlenstoff 2 im Ringe A gesichert werden. Die beiden Hydroxylgruppen, deren sekundiirer Charakter weiter unten bewiesen wird, unterscheiden sich stark in ihrer Reaktionsfahigkeit. Wahrend die eineaus Analogiegrunden diejenige im Ringe Amit Acetanhydrid-Pyridin in ublicher Weise acetylierbar ist und die entstandenen Ester rnit verdunnter alkohol. Lauge leicht verseift werden konnen, Iasst sich die andereahnlich der Oxy-Gruppe in der Stellung 19 der Siaresinolsaure l)nur schwer verestern. Die Acetylierung dieser Hydroxylgruppe rnit Acetanhydrid gelingt erst unter Einwirkung von Chlorwasserstoff bei ungefahr 80°, oder mit Acetanhydrid und dem Borfluorid-Ather-Komplex bei Zimmertemperatur. Der Diacetylsumaresinolsaure-methylester (Id) lasst sich durCh alkalische Verseifung in 2 Stufen, in der ersten durch kurzes Erwarmen mit l-n. alkoholischer Kelilauge in den L1 12, 13-2 -Oxy -x-ace toxy-oleanen-28saure-methylester (Ie) und in der zweiten Stufe durch 2-tagiges Kochen niit 2-n. alkoholischer Lauge in den Sumaresinolsauremethylester (Ib) uberfuhren.LBsst man auf 2-Acetyl-sumaresinolsaure-methylester (Ic) in Eisessiglosung bei Zimmertemperatur trockenen Chlorwasserstoff einwirken, so wird die zweite Hydroxylgruppe ...
