Considering commercialonline platformssuch as Love-lyBooks and Goodreads and using twoalternativecase studies -onlinediscussions of the novels of David Foster Wallace and Clemens Setz -methods of collectiveand collaborative literary reception and communication are analysed against the background of af undamental structural and functional shiftinliterary criticism.Bei LovelyBooks 1 wollen Millionen Mitglieder vorallem zeigen, dass sie Bücher lieben. Sie wollen empfehlen, sich über ihre Empfehlungen austauschen, mit anderen, die ähnliche Neigungen haben, ins virtuelle Gespräch kommen.D ie Beiträge dazu ähneln den ebenso kurzen wie wirkungsmächtigen Rezensionen auf der Buchseite der Frauenzeitschrift Brigitte. Verrisse gibt es nur selten. Wichtiger ist vielmehr zu erzählen, wie man sich bei der Lektüre eines bestimmten Buches gefühlt hat. Man blickt auf die gerade zurückliegende Lektüre und vermittelt Stimmungen. Innerhalb der Plattform schließen sich die Mitglieder zu Gruppen und Kreisen zusammen. Will man dazugehören, muss man vorallem eine Antwort auf die entscheidende, allen Nutzer_innen gestellte Frage vonLovelyBooks haben: "Liest Du gerade ein interessantes Buch? Dann stelle es gleich in Dein LovelyBooks Buchregal und erzähle uns, wie es Dir gefallen hat." 2 Und dieser Aufforderung kommen viele nach.
