New records of two Anastrepha species for the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico are informed, A. bicolor (Stone) and A. distincta Greene collected by McPhail traps in neighboring areas to commercial orchards of citrus fruits and mangoes.
En México se ha realizado escaso trabajo taxonómico de las hormigas, particularmente en los estados del noroeste, como Sinaloa. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo revisar la información disponible para los registros de especies de hormigas en el estado de Sinaloa, México. Se muestrearon 11 sitios que comprendieron el 61% de los municipios de Sinaloa y se realizó una revisión exhaustiva de artículos, páginas web y todo tipo de información especializada disponible sobre Formicidae. Se encontraron un total de 91 especies pertenecientes a 35 géneros. La revisión de la información reveló que el 85.7% de los registros de hormigas involucraban zonas rurales y urbanas, así como bordes de carreteras. Las selvas bajas caducifolias representaron el 7.61%, seguidos por los bosques espinosos y los mezquitales con 2.85% y 1%, respectivamente. Se reconoce un total de ocho especies introducidas para Sinaloa. Este es el primer estudio para documentar el conocimiento de Formicidae en Sinaloa. Se sugiere más investigación taxonómica para explorar la diversidad y hábitats relacionados.
Se realizaron muestreos de pulgones en tres huertas de naranja Valencia de los municipios de Hidalgo, Padilla y Victoria, Tamaulipas, desde septiembre de 1995 hasta abril de 1996 durante 12 fechas de colecta. Se muestrearon 15 árboles por huerta y se colectaron brotes infestados en cada uno de los tres estratos de altura de los árboles. Las especies de pulgones presentes fueron: Aphis gossypii (Glover), Aphis spiraecola (Patch), Aphis fabae (Scopoli) y Toxoptera aurantii (Boyer de Fonscolombe), presentando una distribución por contagio y siendo preferido el estrato medio del árbol. Se confirma la ausencia de Toxoptera citricida (Kirkaldy) durante el periodo de estudio. Los enemigos naturales fueron cuatro especies de Coccinellidae (Hippodamia sp., Cycloneda sp., Brachyacantha sp., y Stethorus sp.), dos de Syrphidae (Ocyptamies sp. y Pseudodorus clavatus Fabricius), una de Chrysopidae (Chrysoperla rufilabris Burmeister) y una de Chamaemyiidae (Leucopis sp.), Lysiphlebus testaceipes (Cresson) (Braconidae) como parasitoide primario, y Alloxysta megouzae (Ashm.) (Cynipidae) como parasitoide secundario.
Se realizaron colectas de Coccoidea en plantas ornamentales, frutales y en árboles de sombra en 25 localidades de Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, México, desde abril de 1998 a septiembre del 2001, obteniéndose 32 especies de avispas parasíticas de las familias Aphelinidae, Encyrtidae, Eulophidae y Signiphoridae que emergieron de 24 especies de Coccoidea.
