The problem of interacting in the distance learning education process comes to the forefront, especially in applied and in-studio courses such as design education. To increase this, a unilateral effort is not enough; a different mutual effort is required compared to face-to-face education. One of these efforts is the construction of the learning environment. Based on this, this study focuses on how studio education students organize their physical learning environments during their distance education process. In this study, it is aimed to observe transformations caused by the learning process in the home components. The study was held with students who received design studio course at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Department of Architecture and Karabük University, Industrial Design and Graphic Design departments. The search in the process of creating a personal learning space, the relationships between old-new positions or situations, and the reasons for which these transformations are needed are examined. The ability to establish this interaction even in different environments will carry the perception and awareness of learning to a different point and enable the discovery of unique processes in a personal sense. The current position can be considered an intertwined ‘breaking’ moment when everything becomes complicated and seems unresolved. In this study, which is a search for spatial arrangements made by students within their possibilities, the primary research question is ‘how does spatial transformation take place during the pandemic?’. This study reveals how students create learning codes for the physical space in which they will perform creative thinking and how these codes are reflected in the transformation of physical space. It is thought that codes related to personal learning can be developed with the hypothesis stating that efficient production stages can be realized by solving location-related problems with experience.
Preschool education programs jointly focus on supporting the child's physical, mental, emotional, and social development; and helping them know themselves by gaining self-control. The preschool period is also the beginning of the process in which children aged 0-6 begin to socialize with other children and adults. How this socialization and knowledge transfer will occur varies according to the approaches used in preschool education. The division of the learning environment into functions and the provision of the environment need to be expected from each function, with furniture and other elements become as important as the learning approach. The interior and furniture needs, which change according to the focus of the educational approach, form the essence of this study. Within the scope of the study, four different educational approaches and educational environment expectations were examined. These approaches were determined as Montessori, Reggio Emilia, HighScope, and Waldorf, and the educational philosophy of each approach and the changing spaces and furniture were evaluated.
Most wood properties are affected by changes in moisture content below the wood fiber saturation point. In this study, the thickness swelling ratios of laminated veneer lumber (LVL) produced from Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) bonded by using polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), polymeric diphenyl methane diisocyanate (pMDI), and a mixture of them were evaluated. Thickness swelling of the samples was calculated after different waiting times under water. While the lowest thickness swelling ratio (1.65%) was determined from bonding with PVAc 92%- pMDI 8%, for 2 hours, the highest thickness swelling ratio (6.35%) was observed from bonding with PVAc 98%- pMDI 2% adhesive for 96 hours. As a result, adding pMDI to the PVAc adhesive reduced the rate of swelling of the test specimens. For this reason, the material can be used potentially in wet or humid places.
Anahtar kelimeler: Genç odası tasarımı, kullanıcı beklentisi, cinsiyet GENDER CONTEXT OF USER EXPECTATIONS IN ADOLESCENTS BEDROOM FURNITURE ABSTRACTIn the last period, users have begun to be included in the design process in determining expectations and needs. In this study, teenagers room furniture design was considered in terms of user focused design and the gender context of user expectations and needs was tried to be understood. The reason for choosing adolescents bedroom furniture instead of other furniture is the inadequate number of studies on the expectations of adolescents from their bedroom. The determination of general user expectations and the effect of gender differences on user expectations of the adolescents bedroom are the aim of this study. The data were collected by face-to-face interviews with the semi-structured interview formula developed by the researcher. The interviewers consist of 60 girls, 30 girls and 30 boys in adolescence. To discover for what and how adolescents would use bedroom products, respondents were induced to imagine life with bedroom products and 'day dream' interactions with these products. The data was analyzed in SPSS program and commented. Analyzes made reveal that users have different expectations according to gender factor. It has b...
