<p>Solanum tuberosum commonly known as potato belongs to solanaceae family. The whole part of potato plant including leaves; tuber, peel and juice are used in traditional medicine. A number of pharmacological activities of potato have been reported viz. Antioxidant, anticancer, antiallergy, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiobesity, anti-ulcer activity. Potato contains Phenolic acids, anthocyanin, flavonoids, vitamin B6, vitamin B3, pantothenic acid, potassium, manganese, phosphorous; copper and fibres. The medicinal properties, traditional uses, nutritional value, phytochemical constituents, taxonomy, geographic origin and distribution have been mentioned in this present review to provide collective data for multipurpose benefits.</p><p> </p>

Herbal medicinal plants are used to treat various disorders in many traditional medicinal systems around the world. Usage of this herb found in Indian and Chinese medicinal systems. The availability of ginger herb is Universal these days, where it is cultivated for its underground stem (Pseudo-stem). Most commonly used part is rhizome. This  ginger rhizome has many therapeutic uses including anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetics, antioxidant, anti-microbial and also curing in vomiting, constipation, indigestion, cold, fever,cough, nausea, reparatory conditions, bronchitis  etc., these activities were checked using different solvents of different polarity. Arthritis is known for its extreme joint pain and swelling may be treated by using ginger essential oil extract. It was studied that it has the capacity to reducing the pro-inflammatory molecules by lowering the RA-F, CRP, ESR level in the blood.The essences of ginger are due to the chemicals present in them. The products obtained from the ginger like essential oil and oleoresin are used all around the world for its food and pharmaceutical properties.The bioactive compounds like [6]- gingerol and its dehydrated form [6]- shogaol can inhibits the production of free radicals and oxidative stress, along with this properties it can reduce the pro-inflammatory molecules like prostaglandins by inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2.It also observed by the recent studies that the ginger and its extract have the capacity of suppressing the leukotriene biosynthesis by inhibiting 5-lipoxygenase. To this effect in-vitro study conducted in the lab shows the maximum inhibition as well as maximum protection by the ginger essential oil extract. The essential oil extraction were administered external apply and the variation in the certain proteins and inflammation related antibodies were studied. Papaya seeds are reported to have higher therapeutic potential in comparison to the fruits in which they reside. Thus, the present in-vitro study aimed to evaluate and compare the anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial effect of seed extracts on Carica papaya L. (Caricaceae). The bioactive form the seeds were sequentially fractionated with hexane, chloroform, diethyl ether, and methanol in the increasing order of polarity. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents were estimated. These extracts were assessed for an antioxidant property by 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydroxyl (DPPH) method and reducing power assay was carried out using the FeCl3 method. Inhibition of 15-lipoxygenase (LOX) by these extracts at 5 -25μg to asses anti-inflammatory capacity was studied.

Nuclear factor erythroid 2 (NFE 2) - related factor 2 (NFE2L2 or NRF2) is one of the transcription factors predominantly related to the expression of antioxidant genes. NRF2 is found to play a pivotal role in the control of redox potential in several tumor characteristics including cancer cell metabolism, stem-cell-like characteristics, tumor aggressiveness, invasion, and metastasis. Further, it was recently discovered that the noncanonical pathway of NRF2 activation was involved in carcinogenesis. Cancer-related changes (e.g., metabolic flexibility) that support cancer progression were found to be redox and NRF2 dependent. The pro or antineoplastic effects of NRF2 are essentially based on the specific molecular characteristics of the type of cancer. Therefore, systematic investigation of NRF2 signaling is necessary to clarify its role in cancer etiology. Understanding the role of NRF2 in triggering gene expressions in different types of cancer is quite challenging which might be useful to target those genes for better clinical outcomes. To decipher the role of NRF2 in tumor formation and progression, large-scale genomic and transcriptomic studies are required to correlate the clinical outcomes with the activity of the NRF2 expression system. This review is an attempt to give insights into the understanding of the role of NRF2 in cancer.
