Purpose of the study: This study aims to investigate the perception of employers on the skill deficiency of graduates. The study also attempts to explore the nature and importance of employability skills with emphasis on the areas of deficiency that could be addressed by higher education institutions (H.E.I.s) to make their graduates more employable. Methodology: This paper is a theoretical exploration based on existing literature. Relevant research papers were sourced from prominent online databases, notably Emerald and Elsevier, including journals, articles, and scholarly conference proceedings. and carefully analyzed. These studies provided an insight for the researchers to understand employability skills and also it helped to suggest the steps to be taken by the H.E.I.s to address the lack of employability skills and make the students ready to face the job market. Main Findings: The results of the study suggest that a lack of employability skills is a major cause of unemployment among graduates of universities, colleges, and other H.E.I.s.The findings reflect the increasing desire of employers for graduates to possess soft skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving and effective communication, and collaboration. It also underscores the critical role of H.E.I.s in addressing graduate skill deficiencies. Applications of this study: The study shows that employability skills are the foremost skills graduates require to successfully compete in the job market. The research encourages graduates to understand the skills deficiencies from the employers' perspectives and to discover some bespoke methods or ways of addressing their competency gaps, thereby enhancing their effectiveness and innovativeness. The study further offers a clear roadmap for H.E.I.s to enrich the quality of teaching and learning, thereby enhancing graduate employability. Thus, the outcome of this study will help not only the students but also the H.E.I.s and employers. Novelty/Originality of this study: The study extends the current literature on graduate employability by integrating the three pivotal dimensions of the problem – the students, the H.E.I.s, and the employers. Previous studies have focused more on some specific aspects such as employability skills needed or expectations of the employers or stressed on H.E.I.s to create employability skills. Students are dependent on H.E.I.s for their studies while they are also dependent on employers for getting jobs; similarly, the H.E.I.s cannot function without the students, while the employers also cannot function without the human resource provided by the H.E.I.s.
Conspicuous consumption means consumers prefer to buy expensive items to show their wealth and status to society. This study objective is to develop a framework that connects conspicuous consumption variables with the aspirations and consequences and to test the model among the migrant blue-collar workers located in the GCC countries. Primary data was collected with a structured questionnaire from 400 blue-collar migrant workers in GCC countries. Eight hypotheses were formed and tested by using factor analysis and structural equation model analysis. The study concluded that blue-collar expatriate workers exhibit a high level of lush luxury behavior to gain family and social acceptance, which is one of the best ways of expressing themselves; however these are attained at the cost of financial sustainability of personal wellbeing.
Purpose of the study: The study aims to focus on all students to engage in progressive ways to attain global competition, to facilitate teachers to concentrate different cohort of students in term of ethnicity, disability, age, socio-economic status, prior educational experience, migrant and nationality, and to support teachers to identify proper academic support system, learning and teaching strategies, assessment, teaching pedagogies, tools, and techniques. Methodology: This study provides various reviews of literature from the various perspective of teaching approach, learning activities, modern supportive learning system, assessment, feedback system and professional development in a specialized discipline. Main Findings: This paper finds how teachers to develop their teaching pedagogy and learning environment to facilitate student’s freedom to think and imagine their way in which will help students to fit themselves in the societal requirements and make students be a more responsible, accountable and confident person and citizens for the country. Teachers can apply a different range of approaches such as mentoring individuals and groups, supervising, coordinating, leadership roles, etc. Applications of this study: This research is significant to resolve the issues faced by teachers in the global teaching and learning environment. It will support teachers to experience a more effective learning environment among different cohorts of the student to meet the required skill sets in a global context. The study can be applying in core areas like designing or planning programs, teaching and learning support systems, assessment, module feedback, learning environment and continuous professional development to teachers. This study will influence and improve students learning from the perspective of teachers, learners, government, industry and professional staff. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research used different approaches suitable to the global teaching context and diverse learning community in the higher education system. According to the emerging changes and high demand skills in the various industrial sector, the appropriate level of the subject area needs to inculcate in the academic program.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
