O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a viabilidade da utilização de lignosulfonato de cálcio e magnésio (LS) na produção de painéis aglomerados de Pinus caribaea var. caribaea, na forma pura e em misturas com fenol-formaldeído (FF). De modo a avaliar o efeito da substituição de FF por LS sobre as propriedades físicas e mecânicas, foram produzidos painéis com diferentes concentrações desses adesivos. O delineamento experimental foi constituído de duas fases. A primeira fase foi realizada sob a temperatura de 160°C e tempo de prensagem de 10 minutos, com as seguintes composições: 100% de FF, e as substituições por LS nas proporções de 20, 40, 60, 80 e 100%, com três repetições cada. Na segunda fase, os três tratamentos da primeira fase com desempenho inferior nas propriedades mecânicas foram testados na temperatura de 180°C em tempos de prensagem de 5 e 7 minutos. Os resultados médios da densidade básica e aparente da madeira foram de 0,54 e 0,60g/cm³, respectivamente. Na segunda fase, o aumento da temperatura e a diminuição do tempo de prensagem não foram suficientes para consolidar o painel, não sendo possível analisar os resultados desta fase. Com relação ao inchamento em espessura e absorção de água, à medida que aumentou a proporção de lignosulfonato na mistura elevaram-se também esses valores. Em até 80%, a substituição do adesivo fenol-formaldeído por lignosulfonato foi satisfatória no atendimento a NBR 14810-2 (ABNT,2013) para propriedades mecânicas. O lignosulfonato apresentou eficiência na utilização como adesivo na produção de painéis aglomerados em misturas com fenol-formaldeído, evidenciando que esta é uma alternativa à utilização de adesivos sintéticos.
RESUMOO objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da adição de microssílica em três porcentagens (0, 20 e 30%) sobre as propriedades físicas e mecânicas de painéis cimento-madeira de Eucalyptus urophylla compostos por três relações madeira:casca (100:0, 95:5 e 90:10). Os resultados mostraram que o efeito mais significativo do aditivo sobre os painéis produzidos ocorreu naqueles que continham casca, e que a adição de 20% do aditivo foi mais eficiente sobre as propriedades físicas e mecânicas.Palavras-chave: microssílica; painéis de cimento-madeira; Eucalyptus urophylla. ABSTRACTThis work's objective was to evaluate the effect of three percentages of addition of microsilica (0, 20 and 30%) on the physical and mechanical properties of wood-cement bonded particleboards of Eucalyptus urophylla composed by three wood:bark ratios (100:0, 95:5 and 90:10). Results showed that the most significant effect of the additive on the produced panels was in those containing bark, and that of 20% of additive was more efficient on the physical and mechanical properties.
RESUMO -O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da adição de dois tipos de aditivos minerais (microssílica e metacaulim) sobre as propriedades de chapas de cimento-madeira, aplicando-se diferentes teores aditivos (0, 20 e 30%). O aglomerante empregado na produção dos painéis foi o cimento Portland tipo ARI, juntamente com partículas de madeira de Eucalyptus urophylla. Os resultados indicaram que a adição dos aditivos minerais não causou melhorias significativas nas propriedades mecânicas avaliadas. Já, em relação às propriedades físicas, o efeito positivo da adição de 20% de microssílica pôde ser observado no ensaio de absorção em água após a imersão em 2 e 24 horas. O aditivo metacaulim não apresentou tendência clara, porém, de forma geral, a sua adição causou redução na qualidade das chapas.Palavras-chave: Aditivos minerais, painéis cimento-madeira e Eucalyptus urophylla. A madeira do gênero Pinus é amplamente utilizada na indústria florestal, principalmente no setor moveleiro e civil, sendo assim, importante a busca por técnicas que melhorem e aperfeiçoem as suas propriedades tecnológicas. Neste sentido, o presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito da modificação térmica nas propriedades físicas da madeira de Pinus caribaea var. hondurensis sob duas diferentes temperaturas. Foram utilizadas três árvores com idade de 14 anos do campo experimental da Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia, em Vitória da Conquista, BA, das quais foram confeccionadas em amostras com dimensões de 30 x 30 x 50 mm. O processo de modificação térmica foi realizado em uma estufa laboratorial a 160ºC e 200°C de temperatura final de ciclo que, somados ao controle, representaram três tratamentos em análise. Foram realizados os ensaios de densidade aparente, umidade, perda de massa, taxa de absorção de água e estabilidade dimensional. Concluiu-se que a modificação térmica alterou as propriedades físicas avaliadas, tornando a madeira menos higroscópica e com maior estabilidade dimensional, além de ter influenciado na coloração da madeira em relação a sua aparência natural.
