The aim of the study was to identify the major trends related to increasing the role of science in production and society. After the completion of the study it was able to determine the enrollment level for high school graduates into higher education institutions in different countries. It was concluded that the internationalization of a higher education acquires the features of a new stage-integration, as evidenced by the appearance of the appropriate political and legal superstructure integration complex. There were considered systemic symptoms of the world system of higher education. International cooperation is a powerful tool for the world of higher education. It is designed to address a number of urgent tasks. It was concluded that competition between values and models of public, state and social and economic development is one of the key trends of the new millennium. There were determined the tasks of the International Federation of Social Workers which promote international integration of higher education. It was concluded that there was an appearance of new internationalization forms which characterized by cross-border mobility of universities or their curriculums. Program mobility includes distance learning courses offered by foreign universities or joint courses and programs. Mobility of the universities involves opening foreign universities campuses by universities or an establishment of an entirely new institution of the higher education university which shall attract capital of foreign university. Today one can watch the fourth wave of "internationalization of the higher education" which is a reflection of contemporary processes of globalization and internationalization of the economy and society. The internationalization of the higher education is an objective and dynamically developing process. According to many scientists and educationalists of the higher school the internationalization of the higher education acquires the features of a new stage which is integration as evidenced by the appearance of the appropriate political and legal superstructure integration complex.
The aim of the article is to decrease the academic difficulties of international students studying "Biology" in Russian within the pre-university program. The authors discussed the educational expediency of using metaphors in the teaching process for international students wishing to take a medical program in the future. The occurrence of new medical metaphors and their usefulness in the frame of a Biology course are demonstrated. Examples of problems designed with medical metaphors are shown. The authors reveal the essence of medical metaphors and classification principles of metaphorical terms. Lexical analysis of medical-biological literature was conducted to identify metaphors and their distribution in the methodical materials for students. The metaphorization helped to identify interdisciplinary bonds between the natural-scientific and humanitarian courses. The authors proposed to include the supplementary material "Medical metaphors" for teaching Russian language and to expand the set of educational materials for international students of medical-biological profile within the pre-university program
Acid-base properties and selectivity of absorption such ions as REE (Eu3+, Gd3+, Nd3+, Yb3+) from solutions with various ionic force by the fibrous ampholytes PAN-FOSPAN and PAN-IDUC are investigated. PAN-FOSPAN shows the greatest selectivity to ions of REE. This fact can be used for division and the subsequent definition of ions. PAN-IDUC as a high selective fibrous sorbent after alkaline treatment is perspective one for absorption of the REE sum.
The article presents a methodology for the designing of the educational materials for international pre-master students in accordance with the priority areas of master's degree training at the Tomsk Polytechnic University. The concept of the educational materials’ designing based on similarities and differences among international pre-bachelor and pre-master students, as well as in the motivation and ability to learn, results of a survey of the master students, the teaching experience in the discipline «Special Chapters of Chemistry». Authors reveal the way of a step-by-step transition from adapted texts to authentic scientific articles to study the engineering Russian language.
This research investigates the internationalization of Master of Information Technology (MIT) education in National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU). Through a conducted case study about a course (also known as a subject or a unit) specially developed and delivered by a foreign researcher-teacher for the internationalized MIT program, it investigated how TPU approached internationalization of MIT education, why the approach was adopted and how TPU overcame the challenges in internationalizing their MIT programs (offered in two languages) and curricula. The research adopted a qualitative case study research method, which involved the data collection techniques such as survey, observation and documentations. Ten MIT program students were involved in the course delivery. The research team observed how the MIT program worked, how the students learnt from the specially provided course by a foreign researcher-teacher in the MIT program, the challenges and difficulties in the delivery of course learning, and how they were overcome. The results indicated that the students were highly satisfied and greatly benefited from the specially developed course in their internationalized MIT program.
