Wenn der Logarithmus der Leitfähigkeit von Cu2O über der reziproken absoluten Temperatur (+20° C bis −190° C) aufgetragen wird, erhält man eine Abhängigkeit, die am besten durch Aneinanderreihen von Geradenstücken interpoliert werden kann. Die Temperaturen bei denen die Knicke, an denen diese Geradenstücke zusammengesetzt sind, auftreten, zeigen gewisse Beziehungen zur Vorbehandlung der Probe. An einem Teil der Ergebnisse läßt sich zeigen, wie die „Ablösearbeiten”︁ c und die Werte für χ0 von dem Sauerstoffdruck einer vorhergehenden Temperung abhängen.
Während einer Temperaturänderung zwischen 600° C und 1000° C und bei konstantem Sauerstoffdruck po2 stellt man ein Zurückbleiben der Leitfähigkeit des Kupferoxyduls gegenüber dem nach den äußeren Bedingungen im Gleichgewicht zu erwartenden Wert fest, sofern po2 > 10−2 Torr ist. Für po2 < 10−3 Torr tritt dagegen eine unerwartete Erscheinung auf: Die Leitfähigkeit der Probe scheint den momentanen äußeren Bedingungen vorauszueilen. Ferner zeigen diese Ergebnisse im Zusammenhang mit einigen ergänzenden Messungen, daß die Eigenschaften von Kupferoxydulproben, die im Stabilitätsgebiet des CuO getempert worden sind, von dem Wege abhängig sind, auf dem die Temperungsbedingungen erreicht wurden.
