En este artículo se realiza un breve diagnóstico sobre la infraestructura física educativa (IFE) en México para mostrar el traslape de vacíos de infraestructura básica, e infraestructura curricular o de innovación, en detrimento de las escuelas más vulnerables. Para ello, se llevó a cabo una revisión del marco normativo internacional y de la literatura especializada para ubicar la importancia de la IFE en el aprendizaje; así como un mapeo de la política actual del tema en el país. Para analizar las brechas de disponibilidad de infraestructura se utilizaron las bases de datos de la Evaluación de condiciones básicas para la enseñanza y el aprendizaje (ECEA) del Instituto Nacional para la Evaluación de la Educación (INEE). Se señalan las características de los programas y acciones más relevantes, así como sus principales avances y limitaciones bajo un enfoque de derechos. Por último, se presenta un conjunto de recomendaciones de política.
Este trabajo tiene la finalidad de describir los rasgos principales de las tendencias de escolarización en la educación media superior en México, así como los retos de desescolarización y desafiliación que de ella se desprenden. A partir de ello se enuncian las grandes líneas de trabajo que se proponen para construir una nueva agenda de política de reescolarización para el subsistema en el horizonte de garantizar su adecuada universalización en el mediano plazo.
