The pulse-height distribution at the output of an electron multiplier structure for a single electron input has been calculated assuming a Poisson distribution at each stage. Graphs are given which illustrate the change in pulse-height distribution as a function of the number of stages. This has been done for interstage multiplications of 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, and 5.0.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
