Objective: To evaluate the capacity of Primary Healthcare to coordinate healthcare networks. Method: A cross-sectional, population-based and descriptive study developed in the State of Minas Gerais through interviews with nurses working in the Family Health Strategy Sector (FHS) of the Unified Health System, using the Network Coordination Assessment Tool for Primary Healthcare. A descriptive statistical analysis was applied by implementing Fisher’s exact test, Spearman’s correlation coefficient and cluster analysis. Type I error was fixed at 5% for statistical significance. Results: There were 49 nurses interviewed, evaluating the population and primary healthcare dimensions as excellent. Support, logistical, governance and overall assessment systems were classified as having good condition in the network coordination for Primary Healthcare. The dendograms showed that the work process has similarities between Nurses, as well as the structure between the municipalities. Conclusion: Primary Healthcare has the ability to coordinate networks, constituting a process in which nurses have a central role. There were similarities in the work processes between evaluated municipalities and a deficit in information and pharmaceutical assistance systems.
Introduction: Cancer is a disease that affects people all over the world, being a disease highly feared by humanity. Its objective is to characterize cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, with sociodemographic and clinical variables. Method: Cross-sectional, descriptive-analytical, quantitative study conducted with 105 cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at an oncology center in southern Minas Gerais, from April to May 2021. Data were collected using the Sociodemographic and Characterization Instrument Clinical, analyzed using descriptive statistics. The ethical aspects that govern research with people were observed, a research project approved by the Research Ethics Committee through opinion number 4.623.730 (CAAE: 44258620.7.0000.5142).Results: There was a predominance of females (58); age group: 60 years or more (63); married or living with a partner (61); profession: self-employed (37); residence (79) in other cities;(43) have primary education; use tobacco ( 23) and alcohol (18); breast tumor (39), followed by urogenital tumors (50); surgery (71) adjuvant chemotherapy (40). Conclusion: knowing the profile of patients assisted is important for the multidisciplinary team, especially for nurses, as it favors and supports the planning of nursing care. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge on cancer issues, support the planning of care for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and contribute to public policies for cancer patients.
