Generally each type of fish has different pattern of deterioration. Quality deterioration and high postharvest damage was caused by fishing method, poor handling process, the length of supply chain, poor handling facilities. This research was aimed to know about handling facilities on Purse seine board and its handling method; and to analyze fish quality using pH and organoleptic. The first step in this research was to observe the handling on the board then measure the pH of fish using pH metes. And also there was 30 panelist who did sensory test using organoleptic instrument on the board. The result showed that the handling facilities on board were coolbox, ice and hold, it showed that their apply good handling facilities. The average value of pH between 6,10 – 6,27, where the highest score was Ikan Selar (Selar crumenopthalmus) and the lowest score was Ikan Layang (Decapterus macarellus). The result of organoleptic was between 8,62-8,91, it showed that the tested fishes were fresh.
Micro and small enterprises (MSEs) play a vital role in the sustainability of regional economic development. The fisheries and agriculture sectors are the two leading sectors in North Halmahera Regency, contributing around 23% of the region's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). The purpose of this study is to identify external and internal factors that influence the development of fisheries MSEs and to formulate a strategy for developing MSEs in the fisheries sector. The data was collected using interviews with 30 respondents and focus group discussions. The analysis used external factor analysis (EFAS), internal factor analysis (IFAS), and SWOT analysis to formulate a strategy for developing MSEs' players. The results of the interviews show fisheries MSEs face challenges such as lack of infrastructure, limited capital, and limited competence in the fishery process. According to the IFAS results, the fisheries MSEs in North Maluku have a more significant weakness score than the strengths indicated by the score-0.49. Based on EFAS results, the fisheries MSEs in North Maluku have more significant opportunities than threats. The SWOT analysis indicates the MSEs in the fisheries sector in North Halmahera are in quadrant II, which supports a potential development strategy, including market development, market penetration, product development, and horizontal integration.
Program pendidikan sarjana dalam sebuah perguruan tinggi mensyaratkan penyelesaikan studi melalui kegiatan penelitian dan dituangkan dalam bentuk karya ilmiah (skripsi), setelah menyelesaikan penulisan karya ilmiah, mahasiswa dapat membuat artikel ilmiah yang berasal dari hasil penelitian, pemikiran dan pustaka serta dikembangkan untuk dipublikasikan dalam jurnal. Publikasi karya ilmiah merupakan salah satu persayaratan wajib dalam menyelesaikan pendidikan pada program sarjana.. Kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan penulisan artikel ilmiah ini bertujuan untuk membantu peserta kegiatan menyusun artikel ilmiah. Kegiatan berlangsung selama 1 hari yang dibagi dalam 2 sesi yakni penyampaian materi dan pendampingan penyusunan artikel ilmiah. metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah berpartisipasi dan praktik sehingga materi yang disampaikan mudah diserap dengan optimal. Setelah kegiatan berlangsung terdapat 18 draft jurnal yang tersedia atau selesai dibuat dari 25 peserta yang ikut dalam kegiatan pelatihan. Ini menunjukkan bahwa ketercapaian kegiatan ini adalah 72%.
Abstrak. Operasi penangkapan ikan di Tobelo Selatan menggunakan berbagai jenis alat tangkap, akan tetapi belum memperhatikan dampak negatif dari penggunaan alat tangkap terhadap biota laut lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui nilai tanggungjawab suatu alat penangkapan ikan. Penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan multi kriteria alat tangkap yang bertanggungjawab dan Peraturan sesuai code of conduct for responsibility fisheries. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai skor kriteria alat tangkap pada 3 Desa Di Kecamatan Tobelo Selatan yaitu: kriteria alat tangkap sangat ramah lingkungan meliputi alat tangkap pancing tangan (hand line) dengan skor 29,1 dan panah (spear gun) dengan skor 28,3. Sedangkan kriteria alat tangkap yang ramah lingkungan yaitu pukat cincin (purse seine) dengan skor 24,5 dan jaring insang dasar (bottom gill net) dengan skor 25,6. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa alat tangkap hand line dan spear gun menempati kategori alat tangkap sangat ramah lingkungan dan alat tangkap ramah lingkungan adalah purse seine dan bottom gill net.Abstract. Fishing gear operation in South Tobelo is using many variation of fishing gear, but it's negative impact against marine biota have not been noticed. This research aims to determine the status of fishing gear based on category Responsibility Fisheries. This research was analyzed by multi criteria of fishing gear responsibility and Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries. The result showed that the score of fishing gear criteria in three villages, South Tobelo were strongly friendly fishing gears are hand line and spear gun with a value of 29.1 and 28.3 respectively, and friendly fishing gears with the score of 25.6 and 24.5 are purse seine and bottom gill net, respectively.
Desa Tagalaya merupakan salah satu Desa di Kecamatan Tobelo yang masyarakatnya bermata pencaharian sebagai nelayan. Cara penangkapan menggunakan alat tangkap sederhana dan armada penangkapanpun masih tradisional, dengan demikian proses penanganan, sanitasi dan hygiene belum dilakukan secara efektif dan efisien. Secara umum, masyarakat desa Tagalaya tidak menggunakan es karena lokasi penangkapan ikan dan penjualan dekat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan nelayan mengenai pentingnya penerapan rantai dingin (Cold Chain System) serta sanitasi dan hygiene, sehingga nilai jual hasil tangkapan tinggi dan berkualitas baik. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian adalah melalui kegiatan penyuluhan dan diskusi. Penyampaian materi mengenai sistem rantai dingin meliputi konsep rantai dingin, dampak tidak diterapkannya rantai dingin terhadap hasil tangkapan. Sedangkan cakupan materi mengenai sanitasi dan hygiene hasil tangkapan adalah pengertian dan ruang lingkup sanitasi dan hygiene serta dampak penerapan sanitasi dan hygiene. Hasil kegiatan yakni masyarakat antusias menerima kateri yang disampaikan, beberapa diantara mereka berkomitmen untuk menerapkan materi yang didapat untuk meningkatkan nilai jual hasil tangkapan. Their fishing method were simple and conventional, also their handling method, sanitation and hygiene practice were not effective and efficient. Commonly, Tagalaya inhibitants are not using ice for initial handling because fishing areas and selling location nearby. The aim of this activity was to increase the fisheries knowledge about the importance of cold chain system, sanitanion and hygiene of their catches, it can affect its selling price and quality. This activity was carried out in form of counseling and discussion. The theory about cold chain system and its impact if it cannot applied; the scope of sanitation and hygene and its positive impact were delivered. The result of this activity was the fisheries are very enthusiastic and commited to apply the theory in their fishing activity (fishing handling) to increase fish selling price. Hasil permikiran peneliti dalam hal ini mahasiswa harus dipublikasikan dengan mengikuti kaidah-kaidah penulisan baik dan benar. Penggunaan aplikasi sitasi memudahkan penulisan dalam membuat daftar pustaka dibandingkan dengan cara manual. Kegiatan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan aplikasi mendeley desktop, cara instalasi, serta penggunaannya dalam pembuatan artikel ilmiah, serta meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa tentang mendeley desktop. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, terlihat bahwa kemampuan peserta mengalami peningkatan. Secara keseluruhan, kesulitan yang dialami peserta pelatihan adalah pada saat melakukan proses install pada laptop dan mengintegrasikan mendeley pada Microsoft word dengan persentasi 8%. Berdasarkan kuesioner yang diberikan 100% mahasiswa akan menggunakan mendeley dalam menyusun skripsi dan artikel ilmiah
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perebusan terhadap kandungan protein pada teripang (Holothuria sp.). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental yakni analisis laboratorium terhadap teripang Holothuria sp. yang diperoleh dari perairan Desa Kakara, Kecamatan Tobelo, Kabupaten Halmahera Utara. Penelitian menggunakan 4 perlakuan dengan 3 kali pengulangan. Kriteria lama perebusan adalah P1 (5 menit), P2 (10 menit), P3 (15 menit), dan P4 (20 menit). Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan nilai signifikan dimana dengan nilai P-value < 0.05 yakni 0.000 . Maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan, hasil uji Duncan menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan nyata terhadap kadar protein P1, P2, P3, dan P4 dengan nilai rata – rata 17,06% kandungan protein pada perebusan P1, 19,44% pada P2, 20,85% pada P3, dan 22,50% pada P4. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh lama perebusan pada protein teripang (Holothuria sp.) .
Morotai Island Regency is located in North Maluku Province which 89% of villages in the district are located in coastal areas which are rich in marine resource potentials. Fish is a food that is easily damaged so it is necessary to handle to maintain its quality. Fish processing also needs to be done to anticipate the abundance of catches. The problem that occurs in Titigogoli Village is the lack of fishermen’s knowledge about fish handling, as well as the lack of fish processing knowledge (fishermen’s wife) to produce the good quality products. This study aims to determine the quality of fish caught by Titigogoli Village fishermen and it’s handling method, and provide alternative businesess. This study was conducted in June - August 2022. The analysis was pH analysis and organoleptic test to see the quality of fish and SWOT analysis to formulate a strategy for developing business of fishery product. The results showed that the quality of fish was included in the fresh category with an average pH value and organoleptic were ranging from 6.20-6.43 and 7.27-9.00, respectively. The recommended alternative business is smoked fish because it quite potential. Strategy formulation for the development of fisheries businesses for fishermen/business actors in Titigogoli Village is (a) increasing the independence of fishermen/business actors through support the facilities and training in processing quality products; (b) increasing village cooperation with related agencies; (c) Improving fisheries business management; (d) Development of infrastructure to accommodate fishermen’s catch.
